Znake Lily is a premium plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that was released in the 11.9.1 update. It can spawn enchanted tornadoes that transform zombies into plant-team zomboids, or dealing heavy damage to them if they cannot be transformed. Znake Lily can be targeted by Wizard Zombie but is immune to transformation‌ from it. While functioning nearly identically to Caulipower, Znake Lily has a smaller range. It can only transform zombies up to three columns away from it. Znake Lily can also attack and damage grid items such as tombstones.

Origins

Znake Lily is based on the California pitcher plant (Darlingtonia californica), also known as the cobra lily or cobra plant, a species of carnivorous plant in the new world pitcher plant family, Sarraceniaceae. It is the sole species within its monotypic genus, Darlingtonia.

Its ability to change zombies into zomboids using magic from its eyes reference the myth that snakes such as cobras are capable of hypnosis.

Its name is a portmanteau of "Snake", referring to its appearance, with a letter "Z", which is referring to "Zombie", and "Lily", the plant he is based on.

When given Plant Food, Znake Lily launches multiple tornados to transform zombies into various types of plant "zomboids".

Enchant-mint effect

When boosted by Enchant-mint, Znake Lily's normal enchanted tornadoes will deal an additional 175 damage (increases by 25 damage for each level) to zombies it cannot transform, its Plant Food enchanted tornadoes will deal an additional 500 damage (level 1-5) or 1000 damage (level 6-10) to zombies it cannot transform, its Plant Food enchanted tornadoes count is increased by 1 (level 1-3), 2 (level 4-6), 3 (level 7-8), 4 (level 9), or 5 (level 10), and its attack cooldown is reduced by 1 second (level 1-2), 2 seconds (level 3-4), 2.5 (level 5-6) seconds, 3 seconds (level 7-8), 3.5 seconds (level 9), or 4 seconds (level 10).

Strategies

Since the Znake Lily has a long cooldown rate in terms of storm attacks, you can use deceleration in the form of a Blast Spinner or a Draftodil. The Blast Spinner will be useful because she will slow down the zombies she is attacking. She will also be able to make a cocoon and "clear" the field of weak enemies so that the Znake Lily can focus on more important goals; Draftodil will stop suitable zombies for a while, as well as reduce the choice for Znake Lily in the form of instant destruction of flying zombies like Jetpacks Zombies and Imps. Znake Lily also has low effectiveness against non-rotating zombies, due to its recharge rate, because most often an unconverted zombie has a very large reserve of health. Plants with good damage, such as a Meteor Flower or a Mega Gatling Pea would help it. You can also take Iceweed, which will slow down and gradually kill zombies who are not able to stand for so long that the Znake Lily's attack is recharged.

It costs a lot, and it also takes a very long time to recharge. While you are planting Znake Lilies, you will need inexpensive and quickly accessible defenses, like the aforementioned Iceweed, or Rhubarbarian and Ice Bloom.

Trivia

• Before this plant became available, one was able to use it from the Rent-a-Plant option early. However, when finished a level with Znake Lily, there would be no seed packet offers to unlock it.
