With
With
As the name implies, Wall-Nut's role is to take damage to protect either your hero, a plant you don't want to lose, or both. Its cheap cost of 1 sun means that it can prevent damage done to your hero at the first turn, excluding the Zombie Chicken, Bungee Plumber, and Missile Madness. The former moves away from the lane Wall-Nut is planted, and the latter two can directly hit the plant hero. Spineapple can also be played to apply pressure to the enemy by giving it +2strength, allowing Wall-Nut to attack.
+
Wall-Nut's role is to take damage to protect either you, a powerful plant, or both. His cheap cost of 1 sun means that he can act as an early wall or an easily spammable fighter for certain plants.
Against
A cheap and early counter to Wall-Nut is Rolling Stone. Also, zombies with deadlyDeadly make quick work of it. If Wall-Nut is protecting a frail plant such as Mushroom Ringleader or Magnifying Grass, using strikethroughStrikethrough zombies such as Hot Dog Imp, Line Dancing Zombie and Zombot Plank Walker can damage Wall-Nut and destroy the plant behind it. Super Brainz and Impfinity can use this advantage even further by giving Deadly to the three aforementioned zombies via Super Stench. frenzyFrenzy also works, but the only if the zombie is powerful enough to destroy a Wall-Nut.

  +
Because of his nut tribe, he can be given more health with Smackadamia, or be paired up with Mirror-Nut to make your opponent think twice before playing damaging tricks on it. Pecanolith can also be used effectively with Wall-Nut, essentially turning him into a 6strength/6health plant for 1sun. Spineapple, Three-Nut, and Loco Coco can also give Wall-Nut strength and can work with high-strength plants too, unlike Pecanolith.
Alternatively, Neptuna can use a Team Mascot combined with Toxic Waste Imp and either Coffee Zombie or Possessed. Brain Freeze can use the same tactic with Toxic Waste Imp, but use Loudmouth/Vimpire and Maniacal Laugh instead. However, for both cases, the Imp must survive the attack of the offensive plant behind the Wall-Nut, if there is one.

Against
Due to his health, Wall-Nut will not go down easily in the early game. A cheap and easy counter to Wall-Nut is Rolling Stone, and against a horde of Wall-Nuts, Weed Spray can be played a bit later. Also, zombies with deadlyDeadly make quick work of him. If Wall-Nut is protecting a frail plant such as Mushroom Ringleader or Magnifying Grass, using a strikethroughStrikethrough zombie such as Hot Dog Imp, Line Dancing Zombie, Zombot Plank Walker, or any zombie in Laser Base Alpha can damage (and destroy for the last example) Wall-Nut and destroy the plant behind him. frenzyFrenzy also works, but it is less effective in terms of clearing Wall-Nut as the zombie's strength must be higher than Wall-Nut's health. Thankfully, the two heroes who can utilize this trait, Neptuna and Brain Freeze, have a wide array of boosting cards to make the job easier.

In the boss battle of the mission Code Orange! Citron Invades!, Citron starts with a Wall-Nut on the middle lane.

In the boss battle of the mission To the Moon!, Citron starts with three Wall-Nuts on the second, third, and fourth lanes.

Strategies

With

Wall-Nut's role is to take damage to protect either you, a powerful plant, or both. His cheap cost of 1 sun means that he can act as an early wall or an easily spammable fighter for certain plants.

Because of his nut tribe, he can be given more health with Smackadamia, or be paired up with Mirror-Nut to make your opponent think twice before playing damaging tricks on it. Pecanolith can also be used effectively with Wall-Nut, essentially turning him into a 6StrengthPvZH/6HeartPvZH plant for 1SunPvZH. Spineapple, Three-Nut, and Loco Coco can also give Wall-Nut strength and can work with high-strength plants too, unlike Pecanolith.

Against

Due to his health, Wall-Nut will not go down easily in the early game. A cheap and easy counter to Wall-Nut is Rolling Stone, and against a horde of Wall-Nuts, Weed Spray can be played a bit later. Also, zombies with PvZH Deadly IconDeadly make quick work of him. If Wall-Nut is protecting a frail plant such as Mushroom Ringleader or Template:PvZHLink, using a PvZH Strikethrough IconStrikethrough zombie such as Hot Dog Imp, Line Dancing Zombie, Template:PvZHLink, or any zombie in Laser Base Alpha can damage (and destroy for the last example) Wall-Nut and destroy the plant behind him. PvZH Frenzy IconFrenzy also works, but it is less effective in terms of clearing Wall-Nut as the zombie's strength must be higher than Wall-Nut's health. Thankfully, the two heroes who can utilize this trait, Neptuna and Template:PvZHLink, have a wide array of boosting cards to make the job easier.
