Plants vs. Zombies Wiki

This blog is a condensed list of the Zombies in PvZ2CI. They go over their Stats, changes, strategies, variations, etc.

Player's House[]

Basic Zombie[]

Basic Zombie, also known as Browncoat Zombie, are the most basic of the zombie units (along with their world-themed variants). They have no special defensive equipment or travel abilities, and are susceptible to any type of attack & are slow to reach the Player's house.

They are found in just about every level and are the first zombies encountered by the Player in every single world.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Average (190 Damage)
  • Speed: Basic (0.185)
    • Eat DPS: 100
  • Brain Cost: 50
    • Wave Point Cost: 100

Overview[]

Basic Zombies, and almost all variants, absorb 190 damage in total. They lose their left arm at 95 damage, and their head at 190, when they die.

Variations[]

  • Cowboy Zombies lose their hats after taking 40 damage.
    • This doesn't contribute any additional armour and is purely cosmetic.
  • Kongfu Zombies can interact with Weapon Stands, transforming them into that stand's respective Special Zombie.
    • Same applies to Monk Zombies.
  • Peasant Zombies can be knighted by King Zombies, becoming Knight Zombies.
  • Pompadour Zombies have higher Movement Speed while out of the water, at 0.22.
    • In exchange, he has reduced Movement Speed while in water, at 0.15.
  • Bikini Zombies have higher Movement Speed while in water, at 0.22.
    • In exchange, she has reduced Movement Speed while out of the water, at 0.15.
  • Cave Zombies are immune to Freezing, meaning they only get Chilled.
  • Despite being their World's Basic equivalent, Pilot Zombies act completely differently to their fellow Basics.
  • Jurassic Zombies have higher Movement Speed and Eat DPS than other Basics, at 0.22 and 200 respectively.
  • Labour Zombies can come out of the sewers, walking towards the right-side of the lawn instead.
  • Card Zombies can appear in either Hearts, Diamonds, Spades or Clubs.
    • This is purely cosmetic.

Strategies[]

Asides from minor alterations to some Basics, namely Big Wave Beach's having more interaction with the tides, they're the same as in Vanilla. So, of course, vanilla strats apply.

Main Changes[]

Initial:[]

  • Added changes to Pompadour & Bikini Zombies.
    • Pompadour: Speed is 'Hungry' while out of water, but 'Stiff' while in water.
    • Bikini: Speed is 'Stiff' while out of water, but 'Hungry' while in water.
  • +Jurassic Zombie Eat DPS increased (from 100 to 200)

Conehead Zombie[]

Conehead Zombie (and their world-related variations) are zombies with roadcones on their heads for protection. While they're relatively easy to defeat, they're slightly tougher than Basics and Flag Zombies. They can only be directly damaged after the roadcone falls off.

They are found in just about every level.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Protected (560 Damage)
  • Speed: Basic (0.185)
    • Eat DPS: 100
  • Brain Cost: 100
    • Wave Point Cost: 200

Overview[]

Conehead Zombies, and almost all variants, absorb 560 damage in total. Their appearances changes at 130, 260 and 370 when their roadcone is dented & destroyed. For the remaining 190 Damage, the same rules for Basic Zombies apply.

Variations[]

  • Unlike regular Cowboy Zombies, a Conehead Cowboy lacks their hat, so they don't have a change after absorbing 415 damage (45 after roadcone falls off)
  • Conefu Zombies can interact with Weapon Stands, transforming them into that stand's respective Special Zombie.
    • Same applies to Conehead Monks.
  • Conehead Peasants can be knighted by King Zombies, becoming Knight Zombies.
  • Pompadour Coneheads & Bikini Coneheads share the same changing Movement Speeds as their Basic counterparts.
  • Cave Coneheads are immune to Freezing, meaning they only get Chilled.
  • Despite being their World's Conehead variant, Conehead Pilots act completely differently to their fellow Coneheads.
  • Jurassic Coneheads have higher Movement Speed & Eat DPS than other Coneheads, at 0.2 and 175 respectively.
  • Conehead Labour Zombies can come out of the sewers, walking towards the right-side of the lawn instead.
  • Conehead Card Zombies can appear in either Hearts, Diamonds, Spades or Clubs.
    • This is purely cosmetic.

Strategies[]

Asides from minor changes, the same strategies from Vanilla should apply.

Main Changes[]

Initial:[]

  • Added changes to Pompadour & Bikini Conehead Zombies.
    • Pompadour: Speed is 'Hungry' while out of water, but 'Stiff' while in water.
    • Bikini: Speed is 'Stiff' while out of water, but 'Hungry' while in water.
  • +Jurassic Conehead Eat DPS increased (from 100 to 175)

Buckethead Zombie[]

Buckethead Zombie (and their world-related variations) are zombies with buckets on their heads for protection. They're extremely tough, so they can pose a threat to Players and force them to consider ways of beating them.

They are found in just about every level.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Hardened (1,290 Damage)
  • Speed: Basic (0.185)
    • Eat DPS: 100
  • Brain Cost: 150
    • Wave Point Cost: 400

Overview[]

Buckethead Zombies, and almost all variants, absorb 1,290 damage in total. Their appearance changes after absorbing 350, 700 & 1,100 when their bucket gets dented & destroyed. For the remaining 190 damage, the same rules for Basic Zombies apply.

Variations[]

  • Like with Cowboy Coneheads, Cowboy Bucketheads don't lose their hat after absorbing 1,145 damage (145 damage following the bucket falling off)
  • Kong Bucket Zombies can interact with Weapon Stands, transforming them into that stand's respective Special Zombie.
    • Same applies to Buckethead Monks.
  • Buckethead Peasants can be knighted by King Zombies once their bucket falls off or has been badly damaged (absorbed 700 damage), becoming Knight Zombies.
  • Pompadour Bucketheads & Bikini Bucketheads share the same changing Movement Speeds as their Basic counterparts.
  • Cave Bucketheads are immune to Freezing, meaning they only get Chilled.
  • Despite being their World's Buckethead variant, Buckethead Pilots act completely differently to their fellow Bucketheads.
  • Jurassic Bucketheads have slightly lower Movement Speed than other Bucketheads, at 0.175, but have slightly higher Eat DPS, at 225.
  • Buckethead Labour Zombies can come out of the sewers, walking towards the right-side of the lawn instead.
  • Buckethead Card Zombies can appear in either Hearts, Diamonds, Spades or Clubs.
    • This is purely cosmetic.

Strategies[]

Bucketheads operate just like in Vanilla and PvZ1. As such, the same counters from there apply to here.

  • Special attention towards Magnet-shroom, arguably the definitive counter to Bucketheads.
    • Their Plant Food especially demotes all Bucketheads straight back to Basics, and can help clear a lane at that!

Main Changes[]

Initial:[]

  • Added changes to Pompadour & Bikini Bucketheads.
    • Pompadour: Speed is 'Hungry' while out of water, but 'Stiff' while in water.
    • Bikini: Speed is 'Stiff' while out of water, but 'Hungry' while in water.
  • +Jurassic Buckethead Eat DPS increased (from 100 to 225)
  • -Jurassic Buckethead Movement Speed decreased (from 0.185 to 0.175)

Flag Zombie[]

Flag Zombie (and their World-related variations) are zombies that announce the arrival of a big wave. They are shown on the level progress bar as a red flag with a brain picture on it.

Asides from their accessory, they are just a Basic equivalent.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Average (190 damage)
  • Speed: Basic (0.185)
    • Eat DPS: 100
  • Brain Cost: 300
    • Wave Point Cost: 100

Overview[]

Flag Zombies absorb 190 damage in total. They will lose an arm after taking 95 damage, and then their head after taking 190 damage, when they die.

Variations[]

  • Cowboy Flag Zombies lose their hats after taking 40 damage.
    • This doesn't contribute to any additional armour and is purely cosmetic.
  • Cave Flag Zombies are immune to Freezing, meaning they are only Chilled.
  • Despite being their World's Flag Zombie, Pilot Flag Zombies act completely differently to other Flag Zombies.
  • Jurassic Flag Zombies have higher Movement Speed and Eat DPS than other Basic Zombies, at 0.22 and 200 respectively.
  • Flag Labour Zombies can emerge from the sewers, walking towards the right-side of the lawn instead.
  • Card Flag Zombies can appear in either Hearts, Diamonds, Spades or Clubs.
    • This is purely cosmetic.

Strategies[]

Due to them just being Basic Zombies, Flag Zombies don't have much of a strategy. If anything, they're a sign of your progress through a Level more than an actual threat.

Main Changes[]

Initial:[]

  • +Jurassic Flag Zombie Movement Speed and Eat DPS increased (from 0.185 to 0.22; from 100 to 200)

Brickhead Zombie[]

Brickhead Zombies, and their World-exclusive variations, are zombies with a world-specific object on their head. While they may look silly, they're the toughest of all Basic Zombies, so even one of them can be a threat to a Player's Lawn.

They are found in the bonus Level set of each World, following the first Zombot fight.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Machined (2,390)
  • Speed: Basic (0.185)
    • Eat DPS: 100
  • Brain Cost: 300
    • Wave Point Cost: 700

Overview[]

Brickhead Zombies, and all of their variants, absorb 2,390 damage in total. Their appearance changes after absorbing 700, 1,450 and 2,200 damage, when their armour breaks off. For the remaining 190 damage, they follow the same rules as Basic Zombies.

Variations[]

  • In Ancient Egypt, they are known as Pyramid-Head Zombies.
  • In Pirate Seas, they are known as Barrelhead Zombies.
  • In Wild West, they are known as Cart-Head Zombies.
    • Like Coneheads and Bucketheads, Cart-Head Cowboys don't have a hat.
  • In Kong-Fu World, they are known as Qin Zombies.
    • Like their fellow Basic equivalents, a Qin Zombie can interact with Weapon Stands, transforming them into that Stand's respective Special Zombie.
  • In Far Future, they are known as Holo-Head Zombies.
    • Holo-Heads can have their armour temporarily disabled by an E.M.Peach or Citron's Plant Food.
  • In Dark Ages, they are known as Towerhead Zombies.
    • Towerhead Peasants aren't the only Brickhead-like, but don't behave like Knight Zombies.
    • Like their fellow Basics, once their armour is gone, a King Zombie can knight them into a Knight Zombie.
  • In Big Wave Beach, they are known as either Conchhead Pompadour Zombies or Conchhead Bikini Zombies.
    • Conchhead Pompadours and Conchhead Bikinis have the same changing Movement Speeds as their Basic selves.
  • In Zen Zombastery, they are known as Monastery Monk Zombies.
    • Like with Qin Zombies, Monastery Monks can interact with Weapon Stands.
  • In Frostbite Caves, they are known as Mammothhead Zombies.
    • There are also Blockhead Zombies.
    • Cave Mammothheads are immune to Freezing and Chilled.
  • In Sky City, they are known as Spotlight Zombies.
    • Despite being their World's Brickhead equivalent, Spotlight Pilots work completely differently from all other Brickheads.
  • In Lost City, they are known as Porterhead Zombies.
  • In Neon Mixtape Tour, they are known as Speaker Zombies.
  • In Jurassic Marsh, they are known as Amberhead Zombies.
    • There are also Fossilheads.
  • In Steam Ages, they are known as Flathead Zombies.
    • These can come out of the sewers, moving towards the right-side of the lawn instead.
  • In Renaissance Age, they are known as Platehead Zombies.
    • There are also Bustheads.
  • In Heian Finale, they are known as Kabutohead Zombies.
  • In Fairytale Forest, they are known as Hatterhead Zombies.
    • These can come in either Hearts, Diamonds, Spades or Clubs; only cosmetic.

Strategies[]

Asides from special instances, like Dark Ages, Frostbite Caves or Jurassic Marsh, you'll normally only encounter a Brickhead variant in the 'expansion' part of the Worlds. As a result, they're much tougher to defeat, and will require strong attackers to defeat them.

  • Poison bypasses armour, so Shadow-shrooms, Goo Peashooters, Lily of Alchemy and others can defeat them as easily as a Basic.
  • Qin and Monastery Monk Zombies will lose their protection upon reaching a Weapon's Stand, so it can be worth it to wait.
  • E.M.Peach and Citron can disable the protection of Holo-Heads temporarily.
  • Knight Zombies can have their Helmets removed by Magnet-shrooms, but Towerheads are immune to this.
  • Blockheads take extra damage from Peppermint plants, or other Fiery attacks, so their headgear will thaw faster.
  • Fossilheads can have their armour removed by Magnet-shrooms, but Amberheads are immune to this.

Ancient Egypt[]

Ra Zombies[]

Ra Zombies are the first Special Zombie found in Ancient Egypt. He will attempt to steal Sun by using his Staff to attract it to him. Defeating Ra Zombie will cause him to release all of the Sun he had accumulated.

They are first encountered by the Player in Ancient Egypt - Day 1.

Stats[]

  • Toughness: Average (190)
  • Speed: Basic (0.2)
    • Eat DPS: 100

    • Wave Point Cost: 100
  • Special: Tries to steal Sun.
