No blind voting. Seriously, folks. This is something that's really bad when you vote for an admin.
I won't repeat anything I previously said on voting threads I made in the past; otherwise this thread would take eons to read, and that's saying a lot for me. Thusly, you should see:
- My Rollback run,
- My Discussion Moderator run,
- My first Content Moderator run,
- My second (successful) Content Moderator run,
- And, finally, my first Administrator run.
...ever notice how I get increasingly less timid every time I run? Rambling aside...
Hey there! You know me by now. If you don't, well, welcome back to the Wiki. I'm sure things are confusing after not being here for about a year now. Anyhow, I'm running for Admin again, you get that. So let's stop being in an embarrassing intro you already understood by the title of the thread; let's actually go into this.
What would you do?
- Be able to hand out warnings or bans to deserving: If there's a vandal or a wrong-doer, they will get their proper punishment.
- Link colors & CSS improvements: This one's a big 'un; I don't even need to bug people about Pops Corn to fix his link color! I could just do it with these powers! You can also expect characters who don't have colors, as well as some items, to get colors.
- Admin Dashboard: This would make a lot of things go smoother than butter. Seriously, if you don't know what this is, this page is a shortcut to... just about everything technical on the Wiki. Need a quick way to see the longest pages? Shortest pages? Newest pages? Bam. You're there. No URL work. Not even a problem, buddy.
- Management of all the little stuff: There's a lot of little things I won't even list off here that also could use tweaking, and with Admin powers, I could do that handily!
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Of course, we can't forget the part where I obsess over numbers; where I go over my edit counts; 2,185 so far. I won't beat you over the head this time, though. Moving on!
- I've been trying to be rather active here, even if it's just on the forums.
- The big ones comin' up: I have completely revamped an unbalanced, unfair rule towards one voting topic into a completely new mechanic that is a lot more fair; you know that as Low-Priority Voting. And I had to do this as a content moderator.
- I've had a big impact on link colors; a lot of the less clear or readable ones were fixed with my efforts and recommendations for colors.
- I've kept tabs on various voting threads as of late, and have made an effort to make sure there's at least something going on here. I even set up an unofficial Discord server just as a corkboard to make sure tabs were kept on these threads.
Cons
- Contrary to what some may believe, I am... hilariously in need of permission when it comes to handing out a ban or warning. Like, almost comedically so. Granted, with spammers, vandals, or trolls, the decision is obvious. But with more complex cases... not so much.
- It does bear repeating that I am a busy man. I have this place, 3 subreddits, various social life assets, school, personal projects, and my other leisure time to keep track of. It's a lot, and I can get tangled up at times.
- In addition, I am also... a pretty crazy guy. I have social anxiety, ADHD, aspergers, and hints of depression, and am notorious for having a pretty... stubby fuse. Keep that in mind; though also keep in mind that there are other staff to keep me in check, and normally these only really matter in personal life, which I hardly bring up on wiki matters anyhow.
Anything else?
- I will finally remove kebab as I said a long time ago in Rollback... Hopefully. Maybe.
- Before anyone brings up the "plant genders" debacle, let me mention I do admit what I did there was... more than stupid; heck, when the vote was done to prevent disqualifies based on stance, I supported the heck out of it so people could prevent me from pulling that same stupid stance again. So, that's why it's not listed as a con, because debatably, it's either neutral or a con.
- Don't bring up personal life or unofficial matters in your votes. Yes, this includes the Discord. I don't wanna see people opposing for stuff that goes on there; heck, it's against the wiki rules to do that.
In Conclusion
Well, uh... I got nothing more to say. Vote.
