I'd say give it 24 hours to the second, and if they haven't put it up on an archive, that constitutes them trying to remove it over trying to archive their talk pages.
Now, if they edit the warning to something completely different, like, say, a fake message from the mods about how cool they are,
that's going to be counted as removing the warnings in a way that's trying to get rid of them altogether.
Archiving warnings is fine as long as a) the warning has been active for 24 hours and b) it's not edited.
