Alright, so in case you haven't heard, another Chinese plant, Carrot Missile Truck has gotten an official English name, which is Carrotillery. However, this name has currently only appeared in the spinoff game, Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. This begs the question: should we rename the PvZ2C page on Carrot Missile Truck to Carrotillery, or leave it be until it appears in a mainstream PvZ game?

    Symbol thumbs upSupport
If you propose we should rename the page to Carrotillery

    Symbol thumbs downOppose
If the page should be kept with its translated name until it appears in a mainstream PvZ game.

Because we must take the names from real international games than chinese. I mean plants sometimes have a totally different game in chinese versions for example Thorn.

While it is an official English name, it only appears in a spin-off. That, and it's already been put separately with the original name in-tact.

Carrot Missile Truck is the unofficial direct translation only, so yeah.

This is a really tough case. Part of me thinks the English name should be considered official because it isn't a Chinese translation which are always far too literal, but at the same time technically from the game it's from, it's not called that. I can't decide.

No no no and no. Heroes is a spin-off game. Carrot Missile Truck/Carrotillery hasn't appeared in mainstream PvZ, then there's no meaning, that they will be naming it like that. It's like naming Snap Dragon (GW series) to Snapdragon. We should stay at the "original" (translated) name.

If they will introduce it to PvZ2 - then sure thing, but for now... don't do that.

It should use the official translation. I think we all know how bad some of the name translations are.... It's best to use the name that Popcap gives us, whether it's in a spinoff or not.

Yes, as it seems, Carrotillery might be the real name, but It hasn't appeared in a REAL PVZ english tower defense game, only in the spinoff, and sometimes translations are bad, so it might be Carrotillery, but still, I honestly cannot decide.

There aren't puns in Chinese language. So, no, it is not official for Chinese.

I think that the Carrot Missile Truck would be renamed to Carrotillery (PvZ2C) or the heroes one to Carrotillery (PvZH) and Carrot Missile Truck to Carrotillery.

We will, we just need to know if we should rename the Chinese one's page because a name for it has sorta been revealed.

      Also, I have decided.

For them it's still official. This is a spin-off game and already has some naming inconsistencies (every hyphen has a capital letter after it which is usually not the case in PvZ1 and PvZ2). However, we should mention in trivia that Carrotillery is heavily based on Carrot Missile Truck.

Well the reason I've always used "it's" is because "'s" is often used to show possession (E.g. Dekagamer's comment, Crazy Dave's taco, etc). So, I always added an "'s" to the end of "it" since that would logically be correct. Though I know it isn't grammatically correct to say "it's" for possession, I still do it a lot of the time out of habit.

So in your logic, you're saying we should rename every Chinese plant with a ridiculous name to something else?

Maybe I'm not making myself as clear as I thought I was. I never said that we should rename al the ridiculously-named Chinese plants to something else. (because honestly if that was true everything would have to be renamed) Let me explain -

I was saying that this is an English wiki, correct? Meaning that as much of the content as possible has to be from internatioonal versions. (I'm not too sure about that actually... but from what I'm seeing that's what I assume.) Therefore, if Popcap gives the international version of a Chinese plant a conflicting name, then we should use the international version wherever possible. And although I understand that Carrot Missile Truck came first and is different, etc, I still believe that we should use the given international name. But either way it comes out, we can still add the "This is about the x in (game). If you are looking for the in (game2), click here."

I hope that clarified my point of view. If it didn't then I honestly don't know how else to put it. And I know that although I might be wrong, until someone proves me wrong I'll continue to argue my case.
