  • Notable problem: the attack of plants is greatly reduced(for my device)  Examples: 3 squashes  from a lv4 squash to kill a buckethead? 3 lv1 exp-o nut to make a garguantar throw his imp? Garguantar unfazed by lv3 primal potato mine?     Does this happen to anyone else?

    • Well it’s because the zombies get stronger as time goes by each round. At the start, it will probably take 2/3 Squashes to kill a Garg, but near the end, it takes like 4/5 squashes

    • The zombies get stronger over time thats obvious you should know that its even explained in the game.

      Explaination

sorry, case reopened. The explaination says that zombies get more difficult and valuable as you defeat them quickly. As far as my research can tell, a conehead is killed by 2 squashes at 0:07 and 2 at 2:49. I think what they mean when they say that zombies get more difficult is that once you kill reg zbs you'll get Coneheads then bucket then pyramid then garguantar(which is most valuable). I can still get 100000 for this tournament anyway....

    • I've seen some guys using caulipower and caulipower imitator lv10. They get 90000 to 1200000(4mil??!).... Another problem with battlez if you don't have cauliflower(money) you can't reach full potential. I use shrink violet, primal potato mine, a few rows of dusklobber with moonflower and wintermelon(all lv3-4) to prey on gargs toward the end. I treat my lv1 bombegrenate as a lv1 cherrybomb. At my luckiest, 1120050

So they won't have time to 'claim' their free plays. Why not lump all 6 free plays together? And why do we need to win or claim battlez plays to get gem rewards? Where did the world quests go?

Surely you would have time to play twice - once at bedtime and once at lunchtime - if you play at all. I can understand though, I'd like the world quests back too.

Thanks, but not everyone likes to pay for a game. And how do you get 10 or 20 gauntlets every few wins? You must have a win streak around 1000(of course, if you got caulipower). The highest streak I got(before app crashed and didn't allow me to retain) is164. Only about 4 gauntlets.

AFAIK, it's a free-to-play tactic. They would rather a player play more sessions of shorter length each, vs. 1 long session, even if both ways add up to equal amounts of time played. The former keeps players more sucked in and invested. Places like supermarkets and Costco does this too.. you already took the time to drive/walk/ride to the place. May as well buy extra stuff while you're there!

Castlestorm: Free To Siege had an online daily level thing too that reset every midnight, and was divided into 3 segments. Finishing all 3 would yield the highest rewards. Each of the first 2 you finish would require you to wait 4 to 6 hours (don't recall exactly), or pay gems to speed things up. It would warn you if there wouldn't be enough time to wait for the next segment of the day.

That was one reason I quit the game (before quitting PvZ2). I also got Castelstorm for PC/Steam for $15 (including its 2 expansions)... not having worry about gems, timers, and also having a keyboard, mouse, and 26" monitor was worth every penny!

AFAIK, there's no requirement that you need to still have the game to post. I've played the game for 3.5 years, so I can still answer questions that others have. Otherwise, I'm still interesting in keeping up with the game's developments, and not so much actually playing it.

Totally agree! But in a reddit post a pvz2 official wrote something like: we don't want battlez to take people off their daily lives. Uh, isn't encouraging some people to spend 4 mins on their device every 4hr taking them off their daily lives? I think spending 1-2 hr after work is less distracting

IIRC, Reinforce-mint is also available. According to this site, Mints (the currency type) primarily come from Battlez. You need them to buy and upgrade them. That sounds like a painful process to me. If they're anything like leveling up the regular plants, it's easy at first, but leveling up later levels goes up exponentially in terms of "XP" cost.

    • Mints are anothe way to ruin Pvz 2.

    • I found out from caulipower tournament that it's very powerful. It fires pulses now and then that hypnotize zbs and give you points instantly. And if it hits a garguantar you've more or less got the lane under control. The really great thing about it is that it only takes ONE pulse to hypnotize REGARDLESS OF TOUGHNESS. Because in battlez the zombies are extra tough, it's really unfair to players who kill zbs using ordinary damaging plants. And it's slow recharge can be overcome by having it at lv10 or using instant recharge.

I've noticed that most of the packets you get here are for money premiums. Useless to non-paying players. Though it would be nice if they at least allowed us to level up locked plants. If so, I wouldn't be able to use elec peashooter on normal levels but I would have a lv7 peashooter in this tourn(and other levels where el peashooter is fixed). Would be useful then.

Use this glitch to obtain gems dishonestly and go buy wild west and far future pinatas! I call it the infinite rewards glitch. 1)complete daily quests. 2)open travel log to claim your 10gems. 3)obtain yr 10 gems 4)BEFORE the message fades, quickly press the power button to exit app 5)go to settings and force stop pvz2. 6) restart pvz2. Press the travel log and obtain another 10 gems. 7) repeat. • I suspect theres  a high degree of unfairness this week. We are supposed to be fighting records of previous fights. Well, at the start of the week, it was possible for me to  score up to 1.8 mil(when there were no barrel and turquoise zbs to make things difficult). After for some reason the barrel and tq zbs appeared, 1.3 mil was the best I managed. But some of my opponents records scored 1.6 mil using the same plants, at a slightly lower level! I suspect they matched me with the record of a match played with hunter zbs. It's not fair!

    • This is a firs for me, so be prepared....I HATE BATTLEZ MORE THAN I HATE SURFERS.

        Loading editor
    • I think after the latest update we aren't matched with lv10 plants anymore. Which is fair, but they had to suddenly switch the zbs that appear to make it unfair again. Now it's not the plant level that's unbalanced.....it's the zbs we fight! Why not? Start the week with reasonable zbs, then when you get enough records switch to tougher zbs, and pair up the matches with tough zbs with those with weaker zbs. That way we'll have to play more to be lucky enough to be paired with a fair match. And retain streaks more often to obtain the reward mints(which are for some reason rewarded only every 14 wins).

        Loading editor
    • If you use the right strategy it’s pretty easy to beat 1.8 mil most of the time 2 mil or more. Prob your plants are too low or you use the wrong plants.

Hm. The basic strategy for battlez is simply: a good offense is a great defence. Avoid using defensive plants like wallnut and infinut. They'll be gone within seconds. Chard guard sometimes works though. Make the most of yr initial sun to set up a sun production front and an offence that hit multiple zbs per attack. If you are given a small amount of sun, use it to plant a pile of sun shroom or moonflower. If necessary, use your plant food for sun. I think good offenses without money 💰 premiums are obvious... As stronger zbs appear, in particular the ultra tough gargans in battlez you'll probably need instant kill plants to avoid being overrun. I find shrink violet+1 squash lv4+1 primal potato mine+ 1cherry bomb murder them easily. It's funny watching a little gargan banging hopelessly until he dies. This is the longest comment I've ever written. Most of which is sooo obvious.

I don't get yet why Caulipower is so powerful, eventhough many players are abusing it. Having this plant be purchasable with gems would give few or no money for EA, and we know that they breath Money. I agree with the part of Hypno-Shroom. Quite useless at all.

Mine is in level 5 and is worthless at its best. It does a real damage, but is slow like a turtle with rheumatism in slow camera and it has 0 of precision. In a wave of 50-100 zombie, the chances of it zapping the zombie you need is 0. My Laser Bean is in level 4 and i like it. I've played pvz and pvz2 for years, and after a few trials and errors, I am usually able to pick out the most dangerous combos possible. Those that involve non-premiums and gem-premiums anyway. • True, but sun bean's recharge is not very fast, and there's no telling which zombie eats it. You wanted the cart-head to eat it but a stupid regular ate it(which is why I HATE that level in dark ages where you have to produce about 2000 or 5000 sun using mostly sun bean). And in this tournament, the pianist zombies can murder sun bean.

    • Indeed. And sun bean is hell useless. I can't imagine a way of making it useful. Even Spring Bean had is momment of glory with the late Spring-Blover combo and this one did not do anything good.

The only plant that can compare with sun bean in uselessness is Chomper: eats zombies one by one, chews like forever, and is shamefully, a money plant. At least he has an OK plant food effect.

    • Unless it's at lv10, sun bean's probably one of the most useless plants in pvz2. The only thing nice about it is maybe, when a discotron-3000 eats it with plant food. Fun to look at.

Right, here's a way to prove us wrong, Citron Bomb Official. Go, use sun bean as your sole sun producer in a battlez match and show us proof that you got say, 500000 points. Well have to believe you if you manage it.(we could actually be wrong)

    • How is Dusk Lobber useful in Battlez?

Dusk Lobber + Moon Flower = powered up Dusk Lobber, which can now fire down on adjacent lanes as well. Great for crowd control

Some Winter Melon to slow the horde helps!

    • Other plants to use?

    • Dusk Lobbers are legendary plants to use. They have good damage output and are good crowd control plants. When powered by moonflower, it's probably the most powerful 150-sun plant in the game. It's splash makes it very powerful, not to mention it's rather cheap cost. Last of all, it has a good plant food ability, being able to destroy most zombies with just one or two mega buds. I'd say it's the best choice for Battlez, as well as Cherry Bomb and Primal Potato Mine.

Don't use plant food on dusk lobber in battlez. Use plant food on primal potatoes. If you have filled all tiles except the lane closest to zbs, the duplicates will land there. SPUD-OOP!!!!

I meant as in normal gameplay.

    • It's good in normal gameplay. I hate the way they patch up the first two rows with mould in electric blueberry's tournament. Reduces the power of dusk lobber.

    • Those all stars overrun me at about 1:00 left. I really wonder why magnet shroom is so weak in pvz2. Can't even absorb all star zb headgear. Surprisingly, using magnetshroom gets 700000.

    • I think Primal Wall-nuts work quite well. They can stop the All-Stars, survive the Gargantuars, and have a fast recharge.

I'd recommend you to use your plant food on planting more Electric Blueberries, as they have a very slow recharge (like most other PotWs) and can instantly kill zombies.

        Loading editor
    • Well, i Always run Explode-o-nut to counter the all star. A single shoulder slam and BOOOOOOM! The all star will not die, but will kill some other zombies

    • Some people don't have the Explode O nut

Thanks. I've been using chard guard all this while, and unless I can chill the all stars, they will be tackled before they can push. I don't find blueberry all that useful though. I manage to plant about 4 in the game. I reserve my plant food for d lobber to mass murder after shrinking violet.

    • Indeed, you have high-level plants. I just don’t want to share my exact strategy because I WANNA WIN. Also if I keep playing every day I will have 98 Mints, and I need to win 2 mints from Battlez so I can get the Fila-mint.

Well your little hint was good. I won't share my knowledge of a glitch that resets retain pay to 10 gems because: I DONT WANT POPCAP TO FIX IT.

    • Sure.

    • That little glitch is why I now have fila mint at lv6, although I don't win that often.

    • How does that glitch work?

Not telling. But you effectively made the game forget you had ever lost, while still having your reward streak where it is.
