    Last thread.

    Triassic Triumph is now out!

"For a week, but it's dead now"

Ignore my evil clone. Anyway, start with the ideas, and have fun.

I am so tempted to make one more card in each class and rarity just to add a Blue Shell card.

    • CWJ-D, the DR cards you made had wonderful concepts. Concepts which I understand to be absurd when converted into cards. Best part IMO were the names :P. BTW, I haven'tread half of them. I got lazy finding them in five separate threads. I like 'em in a way though.

Who says you can't make another version of an existing plant? As long as it's not plagarism, it's fine.

Anyway, I'm preparing the latest version of my set so you can find them much easier. But while I'm at it, here's a new hero.

Infamous for sweeping the Plants with her perilous pro Gamers, Saltex is determined to grab herself a win. She's especially fond of Conjuring and utilizing various traits and abilities to her advantage!

      Name: Saltex

      Classes: Beastly, Brainy

      Signature Superpower: Cerulean Shell

Other Superpowers: Galvanize, Glitched Cloning, Marvel Trade

Most Zombies can't understand her, but surprisingly, Historian Hot Pot does. Is it because both are so salty?

      Name: Cerulean Shell

      Classes: Beastly, Brainy

Tribes: Pet Gaming Injustice Superpower Trick

Abilities: Destroy a Plant with the highest Strength. Conjure a Trick that costs 2 Brains or less.

Saltex's secret weapon strikes fear into the hearts of Plants with its name alone.

      Name: Glitched Cloning

      Class: Brainy

      Tribes: Gaming Superpower Trick

Ability: Gain a copy of a Zombie.

The original was supposed to break the game. Thank god it's glitched now!

      Name: Marvel Trade

      Class: Brainy

      Tribes: Injustice Gaming Superpower Trick

Ability: Swap a card in your hand with a random card from the entire game, and it gets a random trait.

      It's a deal...It's a steal...It's Marvel Trade!

    • New Trait in these random cards, which is Charmed. A fighter could charm the enemy fighter, which makes the enemy fighter attack the opposite hero this turn, similar to Hypnotized. (to be honest, this is the same tribe as Hypnotized that i made before, i just want to revamp it).

Charming fighters (fighter that has Charm effect to enemy, either by destroying it or get hurt by it) will make the enemy charmed and attack the enemy hero next turn. Charm ability is limited to avoid overpowered-ness.

Just like the real PvZ2 mechanic, Electric and Icy Currants has to do it in a seperate lane. Connected fighters that is located next door cannot work, but Connected plants with Team-Up can connect even though they're placed in a different position.

They don't have to be the same spot. So, you can place a plant in front if there's a zombie in one lane, and an additional attacker if there's no zombie in other lane.

That's the point. It's cheaper, but is a faster play for protecting a plant.

I think it would do damage like this (if not buffed and placed in the middle): 3-6-9-6-3, because it's technically attacking three times in three lanes...

And that is why combining these two is BROKEN, and that's coming from ME, who introduced a lot of broken stuff. Splash Damage should be replaced by attacking here and next door. However, if you do it that way, Dusk Lobber is weaker than Tricorn.

Way too UP. without Evolution, it's a 2 cost zombie with a 3 cost ability. At this late in the game, every plant will have 4 strength or more, giving him +1/1 at most. And this only happens before combat, leaving him vulnerable to Whack-a-Zombie. If you made it so he freezes all plants and/or costs less (like 5), it could be good.

I think Double Strike is only for plants, due to it being exclusive to Mega-Grow.

      FRENZY for Brainy is weirder.

KSZ has Frenzy. Double Strike is weirder, and a lot more OP. You can hit the Plant Hero always twice

By your logic, Brainy should also get Anti-Hero and Overshoot. I consider KSZ an exception, whose concept is literally having many traits at once. He's got everything but the kitchen sink. Wait - no, he's got that too.

Back to topic. Yes, Double Strike is unorthodox, but Frenzy is still even more unorthodox. The word "frenzy" is "a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior." Hearty focuses on "excitement," while Beastly focuses on "wild." The Brainy class having Frenzy is just unfitting. Double Strike could be in Brainy, because that's the class of bonus attacks, just like Mega-Grow. And yes, I'm excluding my own set in this argument. Honestly, I'm surprised the CRAZY class doesn't have FRENZY.

... I like this Featival idea. Limited too, so not too spammable.

Also, a small not: don’t use titles in non-header posts on a public thread, please.

I’m not sure if Glitter can be balanced to be 100% honest...

Bass is OP since it’s above curve and has a unique and purely positive ability which I will pretend doesn’t exist because it utilizes Zombie Team-Up.

Hair Metal seems like a beast... I prefer to stay away from rarities, but this really doesn’t feel like a Rare to me.

      I think Breakdancer’s a bit OP atm...

A Science synergy card in Crazy... that doesn’t sound right.

You can plant plants after a Boombox plays in PvZ2 and they will still attack. What I’m trying to say is, what about remove Gravestone? It’s too powerful to just simply say “Plants can’t attack today” and that’s it.

      I'll change these...

Ok... I won't put headers in posts, the only reason I have them is because I copied them from my blog.

Anyways, I'll probably make Glitter give Untrickable only.

      I'll make Bass cost 5.

Hair Metal will cost 7 and be Super-Rare.

Breakdancer doesn't seem OP to me... Considering there aren't many party cards, it won't activate the ability that often... right? Also, It doesn't activate its ability when played, considering itself is Party.

No idea why I made the 5 Arcades Crazy. Just pretend they're all Brainy instead.

      Gonna remove Gravestone from Boombox.

Dinotronic Mechasaur is a 7-cost 4/7, notably understatted for its cost. Plus, constant plant creation isn’t something you should just slap onto any cheap thing. I’d say make Carnataurus a 6-cost.

      Thank you.

      An actual card? Niiiiiiice.

Anyway, it's in the Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and the Card page. I think.

Alright, I found the Class and Sun/Brain icons, but it seems unfortunately there is no HD Strength or Health icon there. Thank you though, for the other icons.

Edit: Also, I'm aware of the spritesheet with all of those variants, but the spritesheet is a little too low quality, and I already have the font needed, so I would just need the basic icon.

    • Well, I decided until I find the HD icons, I'll show what I've worked on so far.
      FrenchVanilla

If you don't get it, 'french vanilla' is also a term used in CCGs to refer to units that have only Keywords and no other abilities.

      Whatddya think?

      Replace Vanilla with this.

For a plant made out of ripped sprites and color changes, it's very good. Not that it was bad from the start.

Anyway, where did you get the other icons and assets? What font did you use?

I think for the fonts you can use Cafetaria or just the random mess of this : fbUsv8C5el found in PvZ2 files.

What's more, you can use this even on wiki. It's awesome incase you didn't know yet.

Sounds OP, you can just prepared three 1-cost zombies before, and next turn just place this and all becomes Knight of the Living Deads. PLUS, they get +1/1? WHA-AT? Dude, Knight of the Living Dead already have Armored 2! It's unkillable easily. Unless, you, as the plant have the Great Zucchini or something, or else, you're f---ed.

Tiki Torch-er should cost less. It already costs much and can't attack. Amphibious is good, but it's useless if Tiki Torch-er is already on the aquatic lane. This means Tiki Torch-er should be on the ground or heights lane, and due to the zombies' lack of Team-Up, it's basically a bootleg Primal Wall-Nut.

Isometric Exercise (Hearty Sports Superpower Trick)

      All zombies get +3 Health.

The only thing to do after your roast is ruined... there's also that other thing though...

Popsmartz Bot (Beastly Gourmet Superpower Zombie)(0/5)

Start of turn: Conjure a Brainy card; Fusion: Zombies played on this get "Start of turn: Conjure a Gourmet card".

"What's this!? No! This'll break the entirety of the game!!!" - Someone who doesn't enjoy Popsmartz

      Unbearable Sun (Hearty Superpower Trick)

The plant hero loses 2 Sun for this turn.

This is the reason mushrooms only come out at night.

Sleepy Cattail (Animal Flower Plant Hero)(Smarty/Kabloom) Just wants some good nights of sleep. Big fan of Nightcap. (Looks like a Cattail with sleeping night cap and bags under their eyes) (Wants to stop Morning Instructor so they can finally go to sleep)

      Superpowers:

Lucid Dreams (Smarty Kabloom Superpower Trick)

Deal 2 damage to anything, Conjure any 2 cards.

He knows what he's doing, trust him! He can do this in his sleep!

Cotton Dreamland (Smarty Flower Superpower Enviroment)

Nothing can be damaged or do damage in this lane.

The only place Sleepy Cattail can get some good rest.

Nepeta Cataria (Smarty Leafy Superpower Plant)(3/1)

When played: Conjure a Cattail, Plant Evolution: This gets "Start of turn: Conjure an Animal."

      No one can resist her.

Exploding Cocoa (Kabloom Bean Superpower Trick)

Deal 2 damage here and next door.

      Exploding with FLAVOUR!!!

(Please don't hate me again ;-;)

So they are meant to oppose each other. I'm fine with that concept. Now for superpower evaluation.

Morning Coffee, I believe, is his signature superpower. Too weak.

      Isometric Excercise looks fine.

Wait...why would a Beastly card Conjure a BRAINY card? And its abilities are way too OP for a superpower. I mean, they're hero-exclusive, but still OP.

Unbearable Sun? Unbearably useless. Think about the turn order and you'll figure out why.

Not sure about Lucid Dreams. It's a weaker Eureka, but you do damage.

Shielding fighters from damage is a Guardian thing, and most Kabloom/Smarty plants don't have persistent abilities. I mean, Cotton Dreamland's purpose is for fighters to survive.

Catnip's health is too low for it to utilize its "Start of turn" ability, and the fact that it is an Evolution ability makes it worse.

Exploding Cocoa...what the above person said.

Hands down, best review that I ever had not from YammaYammer.

I had thought of Morning Coffee as a mix between Galvanize and Possess, didn't think it would be that weak, thanks for bringing that up.

Does that mean you can do some Isometric Exercises by the Windosil with me?

Popsmartz Bot was in a way supposed to be broken (Read the highlighted text), don't worry btw I'm not out of my MIND, I know that it is extremely OP, BUT I guess I COULD change it, but do you want a virtual Old Beta-Carrot or not?

OHMAN! You got me at unberably useless, I completely forgot about the turn order to be honest but yeah I see your point.

I thought Lucid Dreams was fine because you can deal damage to anything, Zombies AND Plants, and still get the conjure of any 2 cards. I can see your point though.

Cotton Dreamland protects and doesn't let damage both Plants AND Zombies, So imagine placing this on a lane with an Octo-Zombie, ready to rush you down, although you can still "Destroy" him, you can't damage him or remove him entirely. I also just didn't want to make another Smarty Guardian hero since Beta-Carrotiny Tina ruined that for me. (And I also thought it would be funny to see a Coffee Zombie sleeping next to a Morning Glory)

I completely forgot to change Catnip's Stats, it was originaly Kabloom and could make other animal plants in the lanes next door... I think you can figure why I changed it...

      Fair enough.

Thanks for the little review to you two, CWJ and Sunfish. I'll change the cards up a bit later.

It can do damage to PLANTS? Well, either way, I don't see any advantage in hurting your own plants, since the only one that does benefit in Sleepy Cattail's classes is Grapes of Wrath.

I already figured out that zombies can't hurt plants there either. However, I still think it's a bootleg Force Field. If it were to lower the strength of only zombies, that I would take.

      Sleepover Queen (Crazy Party Zombie)(2/3)

4 Brains | When you play a Zombie: Give it +2/0; Party Evolution: Conjure a Party Card.

No one sleeps at her sleepovers.

      Pillow (Crazy Party Comfort Zombie)(0/3)

3 Brains | Fusion: Zombies played here deal double damage.

When you just want to lay somewhere comfortable and scream.

      Horseradish (Smarty Root Animal Plant)(4/5)

5 Sun | If this is bounced, this gets +1/+1 for the rest of the game; Plant Evolution: This gets "When damaged: Bounce this plant.

"... Neigh, I shall go, Daisy... Tell the Potatoes... I- " WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK WITH ROOT OF THE HEART

I'll let you decide the Rarities, don't have too much time right now, lol.

Okay, the heroes are better now.

But first, here's a formatting suggestion made to preserve your own one as good as possible:

Name of plant/zombie (Class) (Tribe) (Cost) (Stats)

      Traits

Abilities (Separate each sentence instead of using semicolons)

Set (If you decide to have one)

      Rarity

      Description

And now to put my 2 years of observational learning to good use.

Sleepover Queen looks fairly normal. Kinda like Orchestra Conductor, but she fuctions differently from him. Her Evolution ability is fine too. I would make her a rare card.

Pillow is like Binary Stars, but only affects one zombie. Since double damage is a powerful thing, I would make it a super-rare.

Horseradish is a weird one. It grows very slowly, but it can be immortal. This could well be a legendary suitable in a Bouncing deck.

Then again, who knows? I still got a ways to go.

Stat degrading is a Solar specialty. However, without it, it is inferior to Ensign Uproot, so I recommend changing its second ability to something more Mega-Grow related. That is, unless you officially adopt stat degrading as Mega-Grow's specialty.

Dead Bean's Tale needs a slight buff, maybe +3 health and Bullseye. Oh, and if it only boosts one stat, I prefer not displaying the other stat. (+2 health instead of +0/2)

Both need a slight nerf, say, -1 Strength to Azaelea and -1 Health to Weight Lifter. And don’t even think about complaining that they’re Legendary; I personally think that I’m being extremely generous as is.

I simultaneously like the idea of Synergy and find it an oddity. Also, stop using those “=“ titles.

I’m assuming Protecitrus’ Synergy ability means “Zombies here...” either way, seems like a 3- or 4-cost, although the former could be too OP with Citron/Carrotina and the latter is significantly UP with the other 3 Guardian Heroes, which is the main problem with these Synergy ideas.

I dunno why Power-Shroom yeah I’m calling it that sue me has Team-Up, but otherwise it seems great!

Why is there a Legendary Evolution!? This is just UP if it’s no Evolved, and Evolving it is convoluted and kinda costly. Not to mention that’s an odd way of wording Intergalactic Warlord’s ability.

I fear that Icy Fume has the same weakness as Protecitrus, but it’s not as serious in this case.

Florachnid is... cool and unique! I just think that it’s Raging form is a bit OP for its cost, but I guess that balances out with its summoner...? IDK for sure, but I think it could work as it is.

I think the reason why Protecitrus i made it into 4 StrengthPvZH

or more is because late game, are a bit annoying to deal with when the enemies are packing in heat. Then, should i change it to 5 StrengthPvZH or less and make it costs 4SunPvZH?

Pawamasshrumu has Team-Up, and Flower Tribe. That is a mistake. I reuse the stats from Tetrorchid, a Kabloom event card i made.

Dragon Tree is a bit weak? Yes, apparently. I think i should change it to Plant Evolution? And i want to make the different wording because Intergalactic Warlord's ability affects zombies on field, and in your hand. So, it's not only the cards drawn or conjured or gained next turn. Maybe i should change it to "For the rest of the game, all cards in your deck gets +1StrengthPvZH

/+1HeartPvZH and buff it to 4StrengthPvZH/5HeartPvZH?

Icy Fume, i think for a bit of a buff is making it into 4StrengthPvZH

/4HeartPvZH because plants like Snow Pea that costs 2SunPvZH has 2StrengthPvZH/2HeartPvZH and Freezing ability, so i think it should be fine this way?

I agree. Florachnid is fine. I think the Rampage form should costs 6SunPvZH

      due to additional Healing range?
