Thorn Wizard (荆棘巫师; pinyin: Jīng​jí Wū​shī) is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 in the in the 3.3.5 update alongside Electric Peel

Thorn Wizard is a manually-controlled plant which he'll cast a spell to grow thorns that traps the zombies on the ground. The entangled zombies will reduce their attack. After being released, the plant will be rest for a while. If there is a flying zombie or is entangled, Thorn Wizard will cast a lunging attack. However, Thorn Wizard's attacks can poison zombies.

Thorn Wizard is a manually-controlled plant that casts a spell upon being tapped on, creating thorns around the zombie it hits. After each use, the plant will rest for 10 seconds. If the closest zombie is a flying zombie or is already entangled, Thorn Wizard will cast a lunging attack.

The thorns themselves are plants that continuously cause damage to all zombies it comes into contact with, alongside both weakening the damage of and poisoning the zombie it has entangled..

Origins

Thorn Wizard's name is a portmanteau of Thorn, which is the plant he's based of, and wizard, who is skilled in magic or who has magical powers.

While the exact species of plant Thorn Wizard is based on is never officially specified, he is based on thorns, sharpened protrusions grown for the purpose of deterring animals from eating the plant they grow on.

Plant Food effect

When fed Plant Food, Thorn Wizard will cast a thorn array, summon 3 spiky large thorns on three tiles, on 4 spaces on tiles, penetrate zombies and cause damage. However, a bunch of thorns can trigger thorn entanglement effect, up to 2 times. The Plant Food effect will have a resting state of thorns.

Costumed Plant Food effect

When Thorn Wizard is wearing a costume, the number of large thorns is increased by 5.
