Strong Broccoli (大力花菜, lit. "Strong Oleracea"; pinyin: Dàlì Huācài), also known as "Aggro Brocco", internally referred to as "broccoli", is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. He picks up zombies using a suplex and throws them onto the ground, dealing 210+105 damage. He can do this twice in a row before having to rest for 10 seconds. He can also work as a defensive plant.

Origins

Strong Broccoli is is based on broccoli (Brassica oleracea italica), an edible green plant and 1 of several vegetable cultivars of the wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea) in the genus Brassica, which is in the cabbage family (family Brassicaceae, genus Brassica), whose large flowering head and stalk is eaten as a vegetable.

His Chinese name, "大力花菜", translates to "Vigorous Cauliflower", despite his appearance being based on a Broccoli. This is because "cauliflower" and "broccoli" share a word in Chinese.

Upgrades

Plant Food effect

When given Plant Food, he pulls a nearby zombie to him, tussles it, and flings it off the screen. He also deals 1600 damage (at level 1) to all zombies in a 3x3 area around him.

Costumed

When fed with Plant Food, he does his same old Plant Food effect but will proceed to toss the zombie back at others when finished tussling and deal 3000 damage (at level 1) to zombies in his lane.

Strategies

He can be quite helpful at dealing with Chicken Wrangler Zombies and Weasel Hoarder, as they won't release their respective animals if they get killed by him. He’s also able to grab Digger Zombies, even when underground, meaning he can kill them before they reach the other side.

Trivia

• When Plant Food is used on costumed Strong Broccoli, he makes the same noise that Bonk Choy (when twirling the zombie around) and Citron make when given Plant Food (when throwing the zombie).
• When he attacks, he makes the same noise Squash makes (when the zombie hits the ground from the suplex).
• With Plant Food, he can even grab flying zombies (as he is normally unable to), and toss it like his costumed Plant Food projectile (if costumed).
• In Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition, Strong Broccoli is based on cauliflower, a related and similar-looking vegetable variety of the same species as broccoli.
• In some images of him found in-game, (EX: an image of him in one of the shops) he has a bite mark on him for unknown reasons.
• If Strong Broccoli gets frozen or put to sleep by Archmage Zombie while he’s suplexing another zombie, that zombie will be momentarily stunned, once it starts walking it will be in a glitched state where its sprite will be tilted and will start walking forwards, ignoring the player's brains.
• For some of the zombies he can’t grab, like Wizard Zombie and Octo Zombie for example, he actually tries to grab them, stunning them for 3 seconds.
