Soul Patch is a premiumlegendaryplantcard in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and a member of the Guardian class. He costs 7 to play, and has 5/10. He has the Armored 1 trait, and his ability redirects all damage that is supposed to go to the plant hero to him. This ability persists until all Soul Patches are removed from the field. His closest zombie counterpart is Planetary Gladiator.
When you have Soul Patch in your hand and you are on low health, it is recommended to play this plant so you can survive some more turns to either heal up, draw some more cards, or fight back.
To get the most out of this plant, you need to boost his survivability. You can use shielding cards like Root Wall, Template:PvZH Link or Template:PvZH Link to protect Soul Patch from any forms of damage. This is especially useful for protecting Soul Patch from further damage, especially when he is about to be destroyed by a powerful zombie. Boosting this plant so that he can take more damage while hitting harder is also good. You can also play a Team-Up plant like Template:PvZHLink in front of him as well. Finally, to prevent as much damage done to him as possible, fill the other lanes with plants. However, Deadly zombies can destroy him if one lands a successful hit on any empty lane, due to Soul Patch taking the hit instead.
Playing Pecanolith with Soul Patch is also quite useful, as with his 10 health he is able to destroy any non-boosted zombie that is played. However, he will get weaker as he takes more damage, so try to keep his health high with health-boosting cards.
Template:PvZHLink and Beta-Carrotina are able to Bounce him with Rescue Radish, restoring him to full health, and then play him again. However, Bouncing him and then replaying him in the same turn will require the current turn to be 10 or later, meaning it can be quite risky to Bounce him on turn 9 or earlier, especially if you are low on health.
As of update 1.16.10, he became much better, since he has the flower and root tribes rather than vine, meaning Wall-Knight can use this as an effective way to boost the efficiency of Template:PvZHLink and Briar Rose due to his high health and Armored 1 trait, while Guardian heroes in general can use this with Starch-Lord, making him harder for your opponent to deal with when he is played.
Against
When your opponent has this plant on the field, try to Bounce him away, or destroy him with instant-kill tricks such as Locust Swarm, Cut Down to Size, or Rocket Science. Additionally, zombies with the Deadly trait and more than 1 are recommended as they can instantly destroy this plant if it attacks at an empty lane or Soul Patch itself. Try not to Bounce Soul Patch if he is heavily damaged unless you can finish off your opponent that turn, as Soul Patch can be played again with full health.
As of update 1.16.10, he is now a flower plant. Hence, if you are fighting against Wall-Knight, you have to immediately destroy Soul Patch before he can use him to heal from Power Flower's ability, though if there is a Briar Rose on the field, it is better to use instant-kill tricks. It is also best to destroy any Starch-Lords before this card is played. Otherwise, he will become harder to destroy.

If he is on the player's side, his attack animation is quicker than usual.
As of a certain update, the zombie no longer attacks again in the direction of Soul Patch. This fixed a glitch where the game wouldn't respond after using Bungee Plumber on the hero.
However, if a Deadly zombie with 2 or more manages to attack the plant hero, Soul Patch will do his animation but receive no damage. That zombie will then attack again in the direction of Soul Patch, destroying it as the result of its trait.
There was a glitch where if Soul Patch is supposed to take an attack, an insta-block occurs, even though it has been removed. Instant blocks still occur even after he has been destroyed.
