The Engineer can cause mayhem with his Sonic Grenade by stunning all nearby Plants making them vulnerable to attack. It also forces all nearby Burrowed Chompers out of the ground.

Sonic Grenade is one of the three abilities for the Engineer in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. It does not do any damage, but it can stun plants and raise burrowing Chompers from the ground and also stun them, making it useful for when the player gets gooped. It takes 30 seconds to recharge.

Strategies

With

A good strategy is to aim upwards before launching the Sonic Grenade for it to go further, much like the strategy for the Zombie Stink Cloud or Super Stink Cloud. Throwing it at a crowded area is also a good strategy as multiple plants can be stunned.

Trivia

• The Sonic Grenade screeches "BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS!" upon impact, but the sound is subtle and only the "SSSSSS" sound can be heard.
• The Sonic Grenade resembles a loudspeaker and a flashbang in real life.
• If one looks closely, they can notice that there is a zombie's right hand clenched onto the handle. This is also shown on the ability icon.
• The Sonic Grenade stuns Chompers for half a second longer than other Plants.
  • It shares this trait with the Proximity Sonic Mine.
