Shovel Off is an achievement in Plants vs. Zombies 2. It is achieved by completing a level in Lost City that has Excavator Zombies and no plants are shoveled. It is worth 10 points on Game Center and 1,000 XP on Google Play Games for Android devices.
Origins
Its name is a portmanteau of the phrase "shove off," meaning to go away and "shovel," referring to the item the Excavator Zombies use.
Strategies
Surprisingly, Day 4, the level Excavator Zombie is introduced in, is not an ideal level to get this achievement as the zombie appears immediately in the beginning, and a Wall-nut is planted in the middle of the lawn to show Excavator Zombie's ability. Unless the player takes care of him immediately, a level like Day 15 seems to be the more logical choice, considering that the player will most likely lose the level if they let the endangered plants get shoveled. In fact, any other level with this zombie would be fine, as long as stunning plants are used, like Kernel-pult, Stunion, or Iceberg Lettuce. A boosted Infi-nut is also a good choice, because Excavator Zombie will have to stop at the barrier.
Additionally, if the player sees a plant about to be dug up, they can dig it up, and the achievement will count it as not being shoveled by the Excavator Zombie. This achievement does not count if an Excavator Zombie shovels back a plant.
Trivia
- It, Not Baaad, All in Jest, Mutiny, Fly Fishing Fail, Breaking It Off, A-noob-is and You're an All-Star? all have similar objectives.
