Princess Spring Grass (公主弹簧草; pinyin:Gōng​zhǔ Tán​huáng Cǎo) is a plant added in the summer update of the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 as a part of Fairytale Forest Part 2.

She attacks zombies down her lane and in adjacent lanes by firing the springs on her head at them, zombies hit by these springs will be bounced back somewhere in a 3x3 area. After hitting a zombie, the springs fired by Princess Spring Grass will fall on the ground and act as a temporary Spring Bean, bouncing back a zombie that steps on it, but only once but if used in Big Wave Beach or Sky City it will hit the zombie twice and not leave a spring.

Springs fired by Princess Spring Grass can coexist on tiles occupied by plants similarly to Jackfruit's seeds, and cannot bounce back large zombies such as Gargantuars.

Origins

Princess Spring Grass is based on the spiral grass (Moraea tortilis), a species of Cape tulip (actually a type of iris) in the genus Moraea.

	Colorful Spring 彩色弹簧	When attacking, there is a 25% chance to shoot a colored magic spring. After the magic spring falls on the bottom of the first zombie, it will be knocked back, and then it will automatically find the nearest zombie to bounce to its feet to knock it back. Repeat this action to knock back 4 zombies and disappears. 攻击时有25%概率射出彩色的魔法弹簧,魔法弹簧落在第一个僵尸脚底后将其击退，随后会自动寻找最近的一个僵尸弹到其脚下将其击退，重复此行为击退4个僵尸后消失。

Strategies

This is a really good plant for stalling. Considering her ability to cover 3 lanes at once, being able to bounce back zombies and the Plant Food effect covering the whole screen, she can be a really good plant for the early game. However, her usefulness is compensated by the high sun cost, although level 4 sun producers or imitated Gold Bloom should do the trick. Like Bamboo Shoot (level 3 only), she can also be used to farm sun to get strong plants such as Winter Melon or Ultomato.

Trivia

• Early advertisements and datamined sprites showed Princess Spring Grass' color as teal, yet in the final game this was changed to light green.
  • It would be the second plant on having a different design on their photo reveals before being added into the game, the first being Elaeocarpus-pult
• She, Raiding Bamboo Trooper and Mirror Queen Zombie were all introduced in an official teaser in the form of a background story of Fairytale Forest.
• If multiple zombies are very close to each other, the springs will duplicated.
• Due to using the same UID as A.K.E.E., she appears in conveyor-belt levels in Adventure Mode that originally had A.K.E.E., such as Lost City - Day 14.
• When her springs fall onto the ground, they are called "弹簧陷阱" ("spring trap").
• Even though she’s a lobbed shot plant, it’s impossible for Jester Zombie, Mino Zombie, or Parasol Zombie to eschew being damaged by her springs.
