Plants vs. Zombies for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is a sub-version of Plants vs. Zombies. It is almost exactly the same as the Game of the Year Edition of Plants vs. Zombies, except with the addition of Versus Mode, Co-op, the mini-game Heavy Weapon replacing It's Raining Seeds and also removing the Zombatar (however it can be used in the PS Vita version), new houses(used for the online leaderboards, blueprints can be purchased in Crazy Dave’s shop), as well as being the first version of the game to support 16:9 widescreen and upgraded textures to be played in an HD resolution.
Out of every version of plants vs zombies, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game have the most content.
The PlayStation Vita release of the game was released a year after its console releases and is nearly identical to the PlayStation 3 release of the game, having PlayStation Network features. Except it does not have Versus Mode nor Co-op Mode but instead having Zombatar, supports touch controls (identical to the iOS and Android versions of the game) & tilt controls (substituting the L2/LT buttons not found on the original Vita), and its own set of achievements; some of which sharing the same achievements as the iOS and Android versions of the game.
The digital version of the PS3 and PS Vita versions has been delisted since February 26th, 2015 following Sony Online Entertainment being sold to Columbus Nova and rebranded as Daybreak Game Company with their focus on multiplayer online games. The Physical version of the PlayStation 3 release is available, however (no such Physical release existed for PS Vita). Previous owners of the digital release of the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game may still redownload them.[1]
As part of the Xbox (One) Backward Compatible line-up, the Xbox 360 version can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. The Xbox 360 version is also part of the EA Play line-up for Xbox Consoles and subsequently, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (not Xbox Game Pass for console, due to not including EA Play).[2][3]
