Plants (Plants vs. Zombies 3)

Plants are living organisms that belong to the Plantae kingdom. They obtain most of their energy from sunlight in a process called photosynthesis. However, not all plants absorb energy via photosynthesis. They are the protagonists of Plants vs. Zombies 3 and the player's main defense against the undead assailants.

Common plants

These plants are the most often dropped by Pinatas, they are automatically unlocked at Level 1.

Butternut Squash	3	Smashes the first zombie that gets close to it, plus other zombies in that same tile. Also butters surrounding zombies. Slippery!	Clearing Floor 17, then collecting his seed packets.	Butter Bomb: Does heavy damage to a 3x3 area and leaves melted butter behind.	Butter Up: Hits harder & works more times before disappearing.
Sawgrass	3	Saws zombies on its tile for heavy damage, then has to recharge. Serrated!	Clearing Floor 23, then collecting her seed packets.	See? Saw!: Sends sawblades in both directions, damaging all zombies they hit.	Slice & Dice: Recharges faster and increases damage.
Squash	4	Smashes the first zombie that gets close to him, along with any other zombies in the same tile, then disappears. Slammin'!	Clearing Floor 8, then collecting his seed packets.	Spring Training: Squashes a 3x3 area in front of him, doing massive damage.	Gourdgeous: Does double damage and works more times before disappearing.
Fire Peashooter	5	Fires flaming peas down her lane, which damage other zombies in the same tile as her target. Roasted!	Purchasing her seed packets with 120 Caps.	Flamethrower: Spits a stream of fire, damaging all zombies in her lane.	Spreading Flames: Fires more peas that do more damage, causing fiery explosions in a 2x3 area.
Pine Needler	5	Flings pine needles that pierce through multiple zombies. Pine-scented!	Clearing Floor 2, then collecting her seed packets.	Needlework: Sprays wide waves of extra-sharp needles.	Looking Sharp: Pierces additional zombies and sprays fragments on impact.
Snow Pea	5	Slows zombies with frozen peas. Refrigerated!	Clearing Floor 27, then collecting her seed packets.	Snowball Fight: Unleashes a storm of frozen peas and a chilling gale that slows all zombies in this lane.	Ice Queen: Shoots icy snowballs with a chance to freeze a zombie solid.
Bamboo Shoots	7	Shoots slowly, dealing heavy damage. Devastating!	Clearing Floor 1, then completing your first stage of Zombie Outbreak.	Bamboom: Fires a massive missile that explodes in a 3x3 area.	Shrapnel: Explodes missiles into fragments that damage nearby zombies.
Night Cap	7	Throws balls of shadow energy that pierce multiple zombies. Mystical!	Clearing Floor 21, then collecting her seed packets.	Fung-Fu: Teleports to many random zombies, kicking them in their gross zombie faces.	Casting Shadows: Spawns a temporary aura that slows nearby zombies wherever she defeats a zombie. At Level 5, also heals all nearby plants.

Epic plants

Irresistable: Heals herself, then pulls all zombies towards her from this lane and adjacent lanes, stunning them.	Fatal Attraction: Explodes when destroyed, damaging all zombies in a 3x3 area.
Dogwood	4	Slows zombies in his lanes by barking at them. Is especially frightening to other dogs. Chonky!	Clearing Floor 9, then collecting his seed packets.	Howling Mad: Unleashes a howl that stuns all zombies in both his lanes.	Beware of Dog: Increases his health and bites zombies. His bite is worse than his bark!
Chomper	5	Swallows zombies whole, then chews them. Ravenous!	Clearing Floor 26, then collecting her seed packets.	Gluttonous Gulp: Inhales up to three zombies, doing heavy damage. Then burps, pushing back all zombies in her lane.	Ambush: Hides underground while chewing. Bursts up to swallow zombies walking above her.
Flak Seed	5	Lobs seeds that explode in to fragments, prioritizing fliers as her targets. Lobs 3 seed at a time at flying zombies, but only 1 seed otherwise. Suppressing!	Clearing Floor 1, then collecting her seed packets.	Seed Strike: Lobs seed cluster bombs at random zombies. Each hit explodes more fragments in a chain reaction.	Flaktastic: Explodes seeds into more fragments. Fragments now pierce multiple zombies.
Gravitree	5	Launches orbiting apples that damage nearby zombies. Newtonian!	Clearing Floor 18, then collecting their seed packets.	Newton's Revenge: Launches a bushel of orbiting apples all at once.	G-Force: Zombies within Gravitree's attack range are slowed. Apples can now stun zombies.
Gloom-Shroom	6	Rapidly fires puffs of gas at zombies in all adjacent tiles. Melancholy!	Clearing Floor 31, then collecting their seed packets.	Spin Cycle: Fires a swirling spiral of gas in all directions.	Passing Gas: Gas puffs can pass through additional zombies.
Lemon-Aid	6	Gives a flat damage-per-attack bonus to all 8 surrounding plants. This bonus is doubled for plants without the Rapid Fire attribute. Puckering!	Clearing floor Floor 12, then collecting her seed packets.	Pucker Up: Massively speeds up all 8 surrounding plants for a limited time.	Lemon Zest: Speeds up all 8 surrounding plants in addition to boosting damage.
Starfruit	7	Shoots stars in five directions, including backwards. Star-studded!	Clearing Floor 6, then collecting his seed packets.	Starburst: Fires a burst of stars in 5 directions.	Pointed Stars: Fires in more directions, and stars pierce multiple Zombies.
Snapdragon	7	Breathes waves of short-range fire, three lanes wide. Jaw-dropping!	Clearing Floor 3, then collecting his seed packets.	Dragonfire: Spits a short-range fireball that does heavy damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area.	Dragonflight: Takes flight, increasing attack range and hitting flying zombies.

Legendary plants

These plants are the least often dropped by Pinatas, they are automatically unlocked at Level 7.

Kalestorm	10	Rapidly lobs hailstones that damage and slow the first 4 zombies in her lane and adjacent lanes. Downpouring!	Clearing Floor 32, then collecting her seed packets.	Blizzard: Rains a torrent of chilling hailstones all over the lawn.	Freezing Rain: Hits more zombies with each volley and can freeze zombies solid.

Sunflower	Passively generates sun, 3 sun every 7.5 seconds.
Cherry Bomb	Explodes when played, doing 8688 damage. Sweet!
Star Tree	Offers awards for collecting stars.

• Magic Beans: A character that follows the Plants team after certain floors on the Devour Tower are completed.
