Prior to the 7.4 update, Pirate Seas - Day 28 was the 28th day of Pirate Seas. This level has two objectives: "Spend no more than 2000 sun", and "Never have more than 15 plants". Upon completing the level, the player receives a Pirate Seas piñata.
As of the 7.4 update, level expansions were removed from the world maps and placed into epic quests. Because of this, this level is no longer accessible from the map, and must be accessed when the epic quest is available.
Difficulty[]
Spring Bean is essential for winning this level, since the first two zombies that appear are Gargantuar Pirates. The sun and plant limit will make it difficult to easily take it out. Also note that some plants like Spikeweed and Caulipower are banned in this level, furthering the difficulty.

- Spear-mint
- Heath Seeker (level 3+ for killing Gargantuars)
- Spring Bean
- Any sun-producing plant
- Primal Potato Mine/Squash
- Iceberg Lettuce
- First, plant just one sun producer and a Spear-mint. Then dig up 1-2 Spikerocks for the sun refund. Use the Spikerocks to delay the first Gargantuar, then dig it up for sun refund. Plant a Spring Bean to kill it afterwards. Do the same for the other Gargantuar. Use Heath Seeker during a large wave of zombies (generally the first one is before the first wave) if a plant is going to get stolen. If an Imp or a Buckethead makes it past the 4th column, freeze it with an Iceberg Lettuce and plant a Primal Potato Mine in the first column. Keep using Heath Seekers. During the final wave, use a Heath Seeker and instantly refresh it and plant another one to kill the final Gargantuars.

- This level is used for the Penny's Pursuit Week of Food Fight.
- Not counting Piñata Parties, it is the fourth level where the first zombie is a Gargantuar, the others being Ancient Egypt - Day 33, Neon Mixtape Tour - Day 31 and Modern Day - Day 16.
