Obtaining a pet
Pets (or spirits in other translations) were items that were a part of plant equipment in Plants vs. Zombies: All Stars. They were unlocked when the player was at level 35. They increased plant characteristics depending on pet type. They could be upgraded with either coins or gems, with all rarities sharing the same leveling cost. They were obtained from eggs.

Player could receive pets of certain rarities depending on bought egg. Along with the pet player would also receive some sun.

Both pouch bag pets could only be obtained during a spring festival.
Upgrade costs[]
Each upgrade multiplied the starting percentage by a new multiplier. For example, a level 3 blue pet gave out a +6% bonus. Player was free to decide, whether to upgrade their pet with coins or gems. Pets of different rarities had the same upgrade costs.
