Pea Vine has been heavily reworked from its appearance in the International version. While Pea Vine is still able to be planted over plants and will fire peas ahead of him, he is no longer be able to boost inside of him.
Instead, when he is planted over a peashooting plant, he has a chance to fire the type of peas fired by the peashooter inside of him (e.g. when planted over a Fire Peashooter, Pea Vine will occasionally shoot a fire pea instead of a regular pea).
This ability is named "Bullet Replication", and when Pea Vine is planted over a non-peashooting plant, he will only fire regular peas.
Appearance-wise Pea Vine resembles a combination between Peashooter and Blastberry Vine; like most other pea-shooting plants, Pea Vine is based on the pea plant (Pisum sativum).
Specifically Pea Vine is based on the fact that pea plants are typically climbing vines.

Pea Vine attempted to learn imitation from Imitater but only learned half of it due to bending over while picking up an eraser. As a result, he can imitate actions but not appearances.

Strategy[]
As being mentioned in the top, pea vine in this version lost ability to boost plant. However, when upgrading him, pea vine still boost other pea plant despite not as much as international version. Despite that drawback, other advantages such as "Bullet Replication" and ability to be planted instantly(when planting other pea plant, level 5 required) surpass his drawback making it very useful in 2-Player mode when combining with Gatling pea or Primal Peashooter. However, while having these advantages, Pea vine still has many weaknesses:
Excavator Zombie can block his bullet, no matter which level the pea is.
Like every vine plants in PVZ2C, he requires the presence of another plant. (However, this weakness can be nullified by upgrading it to level 5.)
Tombstone and Shield Zombie can block peas, preventing it dealing damage to zombie. Unlike Excavator zombie, player can deal damage to it and these aforementioned things will disappear.
Due to firing straight projectiles, huge number of zombies can overwhelm these plants, especially when there are some dangerous zombies staying behind such as Wizard zombie, Archmage zombie, Octo Zombie and Gargantuar
In short, if player want to use pea vines and his family as assault plants, it is recommended to use support plants such as Aloe (PvZ2C)/Torchwood (PvZ2) or Shrinking Violet.While Aloe in this version or Torchwood can buff plant's damage(Aloe can buff fire rate at max level as well), Shrinking violet can allow player to deal more damage to zombie(stun them at max level).Avoid using Pea vines in Dark Ages and Lost City .
