Modern Day - Day 3 is the third level of Modern Day in Plants vs. Zombies 2. It is a Special Delivery level. It is the first Modern Day level to not feature portals. Shrinking Violet, the premium plant is showcased in this level and Newspaper Zombie, the first new zombie in Modern Day. After completing this level, the player receives a money bag.

Difficulty

The Newspaper Zombie can be troubling to deal with, as getting rid of the newspaper causes him to walk fast and bite plants faster. However, Shrinking Violet is given. This plant shrinks zombies to decrease their damage and health. The main problem are the Troglobites, who can crush the player's plants easily as the plants given are not too useful for getting past the frozen blocks it pushes to kill the zombie himself, which has some decent amount of health. Pianist Zombie can also deliver the same problem. Shrinking Violet, again, proves to be useful, as it negates the Troglobite's ability to push frozen blocks. The Gargantuar Prime in the end can be difficult to deal with, as Snapdragons and Lightning Reeds alone might not be enough firepower to kill it. Not to mention, the Gargantuar Prime has a laser which can kill plants. Using Intensive Carrots will help to keep a good amount of offense. Plant Food and Shrinking Violet are highly encouraged here to deal with this zombie.

Plant Lightning Reeds in column 1 and 2, Snapdragons in 3 and 4, and Endurians in 5. Use Shrinking Violet for Newspapers, Piano, Troglobite and that Gargantuar Prime.

Also, do not forget to save up your Plant Food for the final wave, where using it on the Lightning Reeds will quickly demolish the Gargantuar Prime.
