To show his identity, he made himself a revolver hairstyle from a barber. Satisfied with his look, he decided to show it to his elder brother, Lily Pad. Just at the moment he was about to leave home, he unintentionally saw the television broadcasting the news of Monk Zombies' invasion in Kongfu World. Upon seeing the top of those monk zombies, he suddenly did not want to go out anymore...

Lotus Pod (莲小蓬; pinyin: Liánxiǎopéng, also known as 莲蓬头, lit. "Shower Head"; pinyin: Liánpéngtóu) is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. Lotus Pod has two types of attacks depending on whether he is planted on land or in the water in Big Wave Beach or the Pool water tiles in Memory Lane.

When planted on land, Lotus Pod's attack consists of lobbing long-range torpedoes that cause a single-tile explosion. The attack deals 120 damage and has no splash damage. On the other hand, when planted in water, Lotus Pod fires a torpedo cruiser. He does the same amount of damage as his land attack but he does splash damage. Parasol Zombie cannot be hurt by the Lotus Pod since she can deflect projectiles from lobbing plants.

Origins

He is based on the seed pod of the lotus, aquatic plants in the genus Nelumbo with large, showy flowers .

He fires a missile that explodes, dealing 1500 damage to the zombie he hits.

Costumed

When Plant Food is given on land, he shoots a powerful missile at the closest zombie in the lane. If given in water, he will shoot the same powerful missile, but he cruises along the water, damaging all zombies and exploding in a 3x3 radius on the rightmost edge of the screen.

Strategies

Lotus Pod is a strong attacking plant, due to his damage being able to take chunks out of zombies. However, similar to Narcissus Shooter and SeaFlora, his main purpose is in Big Wave Beach, due to his ability to do splash damage in water making him a better version of Dandelion. An effective way to make use of his splash damage is to group up zombies with defensive plants (especially Ents) so the splash damage can hit all zombies while they are attacking the defensive plant.

Outside of Big Wave Beach, Lotus Pod can be used like lobbed shot plants to defeat zombies. However, he shouldn't be used against Parasol Zombie due to her immunity to lobbed projectiles. It is a good idea to upgrade him, as it can give him a chance to stun zombies, making him a better Kernel-pult.

Note: If you are planning to plant him in water, do not use him on Lily Pads because it only wastes 25 sun.

Trivia

• His original Chinese name, "莲小蓬", is an anagram from plant part name "小莲蓬, which literally means "small lotus pod" or "young lotus pod," to give him more in form of a human name in Chinese. The name "莲小蓬" can be translated as "Lil' Lotus Pod" in the English name system.
• If he is on a Lily Pad on water, he still fires his water attack projectiles.
• His projectiles explode like Potato Mine.
  • This is also true for Banana Launcher, Dandelion from the Chinese version, and Rafflesia.
• Whenever he attacks, he makes the same sound that Coconut Cannon makes when Plant Food is used on him.
• A.K.E.E. and Lotus Pod have a similar reload animation.
