Heath Seeker is a plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 9.2.1 update. They are an instant use plant that explodes after about 0.65 seconds into a massive barrage of nine darts (every 0.01 seconds). These darts home in on targets and can pierce through multiple targets.
In the Chinese version, Heath Seekers have six darts at level 1, and they are given an additional ability of prioritizing magic shields possessed by zombies. Each dart can break a magic shield, and when the dart breaks the magic shield, it will disappear instantly.
Origins

Heath Seeker is based on the winter heath (Erica carnea), a flowering evergreen plant native to the mountainous areas of mainland Europe commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant.
Heath Seeker's name is a portmanteau of "heath," the plant they're based on, and "heat seeker," referencing their homing abilities.

SUN COST: 125

Special: Pierce Damage
Special: Zombie Pierced
FAMILY: Spear-mint
Heath Seekers are Spear-mint family instant-use plants that burst into a storm of homing, piercing darts.
Special: can target from anywhere on the lawn
Heath Seekers have always believed that the shortest distance between two points is an elaborately curved path that passes through several zombies and also looks pretty. Needless to say, they're struggling in geometry class.
Upgrades
Spear-mint effect
When boosted by Spear-mint, Heath Seekers' darts will deal an additional 1290 DPS with their primary attack, and an additional 560 DPS with their piercing attack.

Strategies
Heath Seeker is a similar plant to Grapeshot in terms of its range of action. Is an all-round plant that can be used to clean up spare zombies scattered around the lawn, as well as thin out crowds in Endless Zones. They belong to a good plant family (which has many powerful plants such as Pokra and Laser Bean, while Spear-mint herself is very useful), with their Spear-mint boost being pretty impressive, taking chunks out of Gargantuars' health and dealing with the thrown Imp as well. It has a faster recharge rate than Cherry Bomb, but they have different abilities, meaning they are not interchangeable. For example, Cherry Bomb is more suitable to solve the gathered enemies, has a limited area and ignores armor, while Heath Seeker is just the opposite.
It is a good idea to use Heath Seeker in Ancient Egypt and Dark Ages, since in addition to killing zombies, the ability can remove tombstones easily. Use Heath Seekers if there are a huge pile of zombies scattered all over the lawn to kill them all. However, when dealing with Troglobites, Heath Seeker can have trouble with the ice blocks as the thorns find them really hard to hit, similarly to Homing Thistle's thorns targeting Snorkel Zombies, circling around them until they despawn or hit them. However, they can still be targeted, wasting thorns.
Their thorns are also quite damaging, so they can be used against single high-health targets as well. In fact, a level 3 Heath Seeker can take out 2 Gargantuars.
Heath Seeker's darts cannot be deflected by Jester Zombies or blocked in any way; therefore you can use heath seeker in the Dark Ages without the risk of the darts being deflected.

Trivia
- Despite not having a Plant Food ability, they have an animation for being watered in the Zen Garden. The animation can be seen when they are ready to level up.
- They, Puffball, Ice Bloom, Teleportato Mine, and Rhubarbarian are the only instant use plants released after Far Future to have this distinction.
- If planted after a level ends, it will just repeat its spinning animation over and over, not releasing any spikes.
