Glacial Nian Beast Zombie (冰河年兽僵尸; pinyin: bīnghé nián shòu jiāngshī), also referred to as Elite Nian Beast Zombie (精英年兽僵尸; pinyin: jīngyīng nián shòu jiāngshī), is a new year's special zombie encountered in the limited-time Auspicious Snow Welcomes Spring Secret Realm in Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. He is the veteran counterpart of Nian Beast Zombie done in a similar style with the Elite zombies of the Frostbite Caves Resurgence Secret Realm.
He maintains a resilience mechanism and a resistance bar, as well as his own health bar. His resistance protects him heavily from attacks that do not deal fire damage, as well as make him immune to several effects such as hypnosis, chill, magic, poison, and more. After dropping his resistance bar to 0, the zombie will enter a resilience phase where he will be stunned for several seconds while also healing their resistance bar back up, in which this phase the player can normally damage the zombie with any attacks before the resistance bar is recovered. His resilience bar is also much tougher than that of the previous Elite zombies, alongside regenerating faster.
He will begin walking into the lawn and stop at the first tile he steps on, afterwards he will begin his first cycle of attacks. He can jump onto a random plant on the lawn to eat it instantly, and immediately after spit out a frost in a 3x3 area which will freeze any plants (except fire plants) within that area, as well as create an empty ice cube in the tiles with no plants within that area. He can summon portals in his column which spawn New Year's Buckethead Zombies and Money Tree Zombies. After repeating these 2 attacks twice, he will scream and create glacier tiles in the entire column he is at, killing all plants within the column and making the column permanently unplantable. He will then walk 1 tile ahead and repeat this entire process until he dies or freezes all columns in the lawn, which he will then walk towards the player's house making them lose the level.
Unlike Nian Beast Zombie, he will no longer digest the plant he eats and will directly swallow it and proceed with his set of skills, and he is no longer afraid of red plants and explosive plants, meaning he won't be stalled upon eating or encountering them.
