Battle for the Belt is the ninth mission for the plant side in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The main opposing zombie hero in this mission is The Smash. This mission also features Super Brainz and Professor Brainstorm as opposing zombie heroes.

Plot (Spoilers)

After smashing a Cactus, The Smash is challenged by Green Shadow, Solar Flare, and Wall-Knight with Grass Knuckles as a coach. The plant heroes fight The Smash until Grass Knuckles launches Wall-Knight from the ropes, smashing into The Smash. As a result, they pin The Smash and proclaim the title.

This battle shouldn't be too hard. Squash Sports Zombies, take care of Flag Zombies, and be prepared for Gargantuars.

Teammate Battle (I)

This deck is very similar to the previous level's boss deck. However, he added the following:

• 2 Headstone Carvers
• 4 Hot Dog Imps
• 1 Swashbuckler Zombie
• 3 Electricians
• 1 Pogo Bouncer

and removed the following:

• 4 Kite Flyers
• 3 Stealthy Imps
• 4 Tomb Raiser Zombies

Other than that, you should use a rushing deck to defeat him before he can overwhelm you with gravestone zombies.

Teammate Battle (II)

This deck is all about tricks, bonus attacks and drawing cards. Shouldn't be too hard; just watch out for Wizard Gargantuar. A rush deck is recommended for him. You can also play plants with high strength and high health due to his lack of Rocket Science.

Trivia

• The first comic strip is a reference to Wrestlemania, a big wrestling event, as Crazy Dave says, "with wrestling... and mania!".
• The name "The Grassvengers" on the comic book cover references the superhero team The Avengers, while the cover itself is a reference to Issue 307 of the Hulk Volume 1 comic book series.
• The mission map has zombies that don’t look like any other zombie in the game.
• The missions seems to takes place in the Mexican desert, as evident by the piñata, cactuses in the background & the Puebla building.
• The comic in the 1.2.11 and up and the comic in version 1.0.17 and lower are much different. The first comic's plot in the old version becomes unused in the newer versions as the old comic has a strange ending that seemed like the The Smash slammed the plants and won.
• The comic’s cover art was designed by Mike Bear.
