Plants vs. Zombies 2: Revenge (Chinese name: 植物大战僵尸2：复仇; pinyin: zhíwù dàzhàn jiāngshī 2: fùchóu) is a tower defense rail shooter mini-program game on WeChat. It is a spin-off of Plants vs. Zombies 2. In order to play the game, one must have downloaded and have a registered account for the app.
Gameplay[]
In Plants vs. Zombies 2: Revenge, the player can choose the plants to use as the attacker before entering a level. The player then taps on the desired spot on the screen in an level for the plant to shoot at, damaging zombies in the way. Each shot consumes a certain amount of gold coins. Each level has different objectives, such as defeating a certain amount of specific type(s) of zombies. If the objective is reached within the time limit, the player wins the level and randomly draws a reward, including puzzle pieces of plants, coins or sun. Otherwise, the player loses and needs to restart.
Sun is used to upgrade plants. It can be obtained through watching ads, from Sunflowers in the garden or picking up falling sun in the garden. Coins are consumed when the plant attacks in a level which can be obtained through watching ads, defeating zombies (especially Ingot Thief Zombie) or Marigolds in the garden. They also pop out from the ground randomly in the garden. Crystals are consumed instead of coins in the Challenge Mode. The initial number of crystals is 20000 and each shot consumes 50 crystals. The player can gain crystals in a round of challenge mode by damaging Ingot Thief Zombie or watching an ad.
In Challenge Mode, the player can play indefinitely as long as the player achieve the objectives in each segment and has not used up all the crystals yet. A new tower, Tyrannosaurus, can only be used in the Challenge Mode and can be unlocked by watching an ad.
In a Boss Battle, the Zomboss has two variants of Zombots to use depending on the level despite them working exactly the same. The player needs to defeat the Zombot before time runs out.
Plants are unlocked and upgraded by collecting puzzle pieces of the respective plants as rewards of clearing a level. Sunflower and Marigold don't require puzzle pieces and can be planted for more than one in the garden as long as there are still extra space.
