Shop2

Icon

The store serves as a general shop in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Currency like money, coins, gems, and mints can be used to purchase plants, seed packets, costumes, piñatas, other currencies, and bundles. The store is divided into seven different shops, each having a different selection of purchasable items. Discounts on the prices are frequently made and announced through social media platforms or directly in the game.

[]

The promoted tab is the first tab of the store. Here, the player can buy a variety of items, which often include enough seed packets to unlock the current Arena plant (usually 250 seeds) for $9.99 USD, 250 seeds for the featured Power Mint for $9.99 USD, the "Goodie Bag" bundle which includes 10,000 coins and 50 gems for $4.99 USD, and 10 featured Power Mint seeds + 10 current Arena plant seeds for an initial 10 Gems, with the gem cost increasing with every purchase.

Adventure[]

The adventure tab features seed packets and costumes available for purchase with coins, gems, and mints. Here is where the player can claim their free Daily Gift of ten seeds and where the player can purchase a varying number of costumes for coins or gems. Every number of hours, the seeds for Adventure Mode plants in this tab refresh. The player can buy a max of two of each bundle of seeds before they disappear. These bundles include five and ten seeds purchasable with gems, and five and ten seeds purchasable with coins. The cost of these bundles vary. The player can also watch an advertisement for one premium seed packet of the featured plant. Here is also where the player can purchase seed packets for the featured Power Mint, which sells 25 seeds for 25 mints, or 100 seeds for 100 mints.

Special[]

The special tab features seed packets for the Plant of the Week. The player can purchase seed packets with coins, gems, real money, or by watching an advertisement.

Plant of the Week offers
Seeds Cost Max Purchases
500 $19.99 1
125 $4.99 1
25 $0.99 1
250 500 gems 1
50 125 gems 5
25 12.500 coins 1
10 5,000 coins 5

Piñata shop[]

Pinata shop2

In the piñata shop, the player can buy piñatas that contain seed packets to level up plants. Piñatas can be bought with gems, real money, or coins and mints during special events. The shop always contains special edition piñatas that get changed regularly, and piñatas for worlds the player has unlocked.

World piñatas cost 100 gems, except for the smaller Ancient Egypt piñata, which costs 20 gems. The seed packet amount in piñatas pertaining to worlds change according to whatever Arena league the player is in, where higher leagues means more seeds for the same price. These piñatas have a different cost, contain different amounts of seeds, and contain no premium plants when compared to the piñatas purchasable in the Almanac.

Bundles shop[]

Bundles shop is the fifth tab of the store where bundles containing packs of coins, gems, piñatas, and gauntlets are sold together for real life currencies. These purchases only cover their current profile. Bundles are more expensive than each of their individual components, but cheaper than all components combined. Therefore, buying a bundle is recommended only if the player desires to buy all pieces of the bundle. There is a specific bundle pertaining to the Arena league the user is in. Note that there are no bundle exclusive items and every item inside a bundle can also be bought individually from the other shops, though buying bundles is a better deal than buying the items individually.

Plants shop[]

Plant shop2

The plants shop offers premium plants which can be bought using money, gems, or mints. Plants sold in gems and mints are not shared with other profiles of the player while plants sold in money are shared with any profile of the player. Some plants are only sold for a limited time period while others are always in the store. Sometimes, some plants are sold in a discount prize or a premium plant for gems, depending on the current event.

Resources shop[]

Coin shop2
Gem shop2

Resources shop offers coins, gems, Gauntlets, and Fuel. Coins and gems can only be purchased with real money, while Gauntlets and Fuel are purchased with gems. Resources are only bought for the current profile of the player and cannot be shared through different profiles. Quick coin shop and quick gem shop menu can be reached by tapping the plus button near the money and gem counters on the top right of the screen, respectively. Quick Gauntlet shop and quick Fuel shop can be reached by opening their respective mode and tapping the plus button near their counters on the top of the screen.

The Costume Shop ad on the main menu

Costume shop was the seventh and final tab of the store where several shop-exclusive plant costumes were sold for gems. While the prices varied from one costume to another, most of the costumes cost 10 gems. Costumes bought were only kept for the current profile for the player hence could not be shared. Unlike other costumes in the game, every costume sold here had a unique name and description tag. When a costume was bought here, the plant automatically wore that costume. It could later be removed or replaced from the Almanac or Seed Selection Menu. Some costumes sold in this shop could not be obtained in any other way. There were nine exclusive costumes in the store. Costumes were not limited and could be bought anytime the player wished to. Also, some normally-obtainable costumes were sold. This tab was removed in update 5.7.1 and costumes could no longer be purchased in the store, but since update 6.5.1 costumes can be purchased with coins or gems in the fresh picks shop; these change every 24 hours.

Sprout shop[]

Sprout Shop

Sprout shop was the fourth tab of the store where plant sprouts could be bought for the Zen Garden using gems. There were five different deals for sprouts. Sprouts bought were only available for the usage of player's current profile thus cannot be shared with other accounts.

Although the sprout shop is no longer available in the store, quick sprout shop accessible from the Zen Garden still has it.

Fresh picks shop[]

Fresh picks shop2

The fresh picks shop offered limited special offers that were updated constantly. The special offers included Featured Plant of the Week, plants featured in Epic Quests, various bundles, piñatas, and costumes. Limited-time deals and sales were also featured here.

Upgrade shop[]

Upgrade shop2

Upgrade shop was the last tab in the store. There were a total of four store-exclusive upgrades in the game that can be found in this shop. Real life currencies were used in this shop for buying them. Upgrades bought here were shared with all the profiles of the player and enhanced the gameplay experience. Upgrades resemble golden trophies and can be viewed in the "Upgrades" tab of the Almanac. Players could've bought the shop-exclusive upgrades directly from the Almanac too, without stopping by the upgrade shop. Upgrades could also be found in the bundle shop, packed with some plants and coins.

This tab was removed in the 9.6.1 update[1] and Upgrades can no longer be permanently purchased, although players who did not buy the Bonus Seed Slot are able to rent it for 650 coins each time they play an Adventure Mode level. Users who had previously purchased Upgrades kept them.

Trivia[]

  • Before March 11, 2015, there were only four tabs under the store; coins, plants, upgrades, and bundles. With the introduction of gems, options were increased since gems can be used to buy costumes, sprouts and some plants.
    • Before this change, the tabs lacked symbols and only the names of the shop were written. The store was later overhauled again to no longer include symbols and once again use the names of the shops.
  • After Toadstool's release, the colors for each tab, while in the same location, feature different sections, so the following occurs:
    • Plants are where coins used to be;
    • Costumes are where gems used to be;
    • Bundles are where plants used to be;
    • Upgrades are where sprouts used to be;
    • Gems are where upgrades used to be;
    • Coins are where bundles used to be;
    • Sprouts are where costumes used to be.
  • As of 9.8.1, the section are now optimized with the sections.
