Mini-Golf Standoff

Mini-Golf Standoff is the ninth mission for the zombie side in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The main opposing plant hero in this mission is Wall-Knight. This mission also features Captain Combustible and Solar Flare as opposing plant heroes.

Plot (Spoilers)

Wall-Knight was taking a break in a mini-golf course when he "accidentally" blocks a golf ball. This was later reported on the zombie news, stating that Wall-Knight was "intercepting fun", which led The Smash, Impfinity and Brain Freeze in attempting to get rid of him. In the end, the zombie heroes had managed to get hold of Wall-Knight and use him as a golf ball.

Encounter Battle

Most of Wall-Knight's cards have either very low strength or very low health. You should easily beat this deck within a few tries. Z-Mech would be the best bet for this battle as he has access to cards such as Weed Spray, Rolling Stone, and Bungee Plumber.

Teammate Battle (I)

Most of these cards have at most 2 health so a simple Bungee Plumber (or The Chickening against many fragile cards) could kill most of them. Just be careful of Black-Eyed Peas. You could consider using Professor Brainstorm since he would also have easy access to Rocket Science to take out Black-Eyed Peas that are behind Torchwoods.

Mini-Boss Battle

Wall-Knght decided to replace his morning glories for some Jugger-Nuts. However, the Jugger-Nuts will always be weak to Rolling Stone and Weed Spray due to a lack of strength-boosting cards regardless of how many turns have passed. Once again, Z-Mech will be the most effective hero aganist Wall-Knight. In fact, since Wall-Knight has less cards now, the battle will be much easier. Just don't let the Jugger-Nuts land a hit on you. They do more unblockable damage.

Were Solar plants expected in this deck? The AI now does the impossible yet again by using Smarty plants! Fortunately, you can use heavily damaging zombies to fight back, but beware that Solar Flare now has aquatic plants!

Boss Battle

Now Wall-knight is getting serious with his Nut roots. He brought along Smackadamia, which will boost the health of most of his cards since they are mostly in the Nut tribe, and Mirror-Nut, which will make you think twice before randomly hitting any of Wall-Knight's plants. You can still use Z-Mech although you will have a hard time dealing with Smackadamia. The alternative is to use the other Hearty heroes as they have tricks or zombies that can effectively deal with Smackadamia.

Trivia

• Zomboss's remark "Our hole is won" is a reference to the phrase "hole-in-one", which is used in both golf and mini-golf.
• There is a helicopter similar to Copter Commando which serves as a television helicopter.
• The mission’s map was drawn by Dominic Sodano.
• In the final comic strip of this mission, Brain Freeze doesn't have his mask on. This is likely a rare oversight.
