Code Orange! Citron Invades!

Code Orange! Citron Invades! is the fourth mission for the zombie side in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The main opposing plant hero in this mission is Citron. This mission also features Captain Combustible and Wall-Knight as opposing plant heroes.

Plot (Spoilers)

Citron, Rose, and Grass Knuckles attempt to replace the zombie flag with their own flag on the moon. Dr. Zomboss finds out and sends out Z-Mech, Rustbolt, and Brain Freeze to stop them. Citron seemingly gains the upper hand of the battle, but Z-Mech kicks him off to space with his fellow plant heroes following him. The zombies then reclaimed the moon.

Encounter Battle

Don't worry, this is an easy deck to deal with. However, beware his Grave Buster and Carrotillery, they are pretty dangerous. There is no use to worry about Snowdrop, as Citron has no Freezing cards.

Teammate Battle (I)

Most, if not all of, his cards have very low health. Take advantage of that by using direct damage tricks such as Bungee Plumber and the Chickening. If need be, you can also use Rocket Science to take down strength-boosted plants.

Mini-Boss Battle

Once again, Citron decides not to bring any Freezing cards to boost his Snowdrops. It will be sightly harder to take Citron down though due to the presence of Poppin' Poppies, especially when he decides to Bounce them back using Rescue Radishes to make more Lil' Buddies.

Teammate Battle (II)

All of Wall-Knight's plants except for Magnifying Grass have one common weakness: their low strength. Hearty zombies are best suited for this battle as they have Weed Spray and Rolling Stone. To defeat the Magnifying Grasses, use direct damage tricks such as Bungee Plumbers. Also, the only trick Wall-Knight has is Water Balloons, which he will use to destroy zombies with 2 health or less.

Boss Battle

So Citron for the third time decides not to bring any Freezing cards. Notice that all plants except for Rescue Radish, Carrotillery and Poppin' Poppies have low strength. Hearty heroes can exploit that to drain Citron of his cards by using tricks such as Rolling Stone and Weed Spray.

Trivia

• The mission's name may be a reference to the term "code red," referring to a serious security warning or a threat.
• Rose and Grass Knuckles are featured in the comic strips, despite not being actual opponents in this mission.
• On the first page, Zomboss refers to Citron as "That annoying orange!," a reference to the Annoying Orange show featured on YouTube and Cartoon Network.
• In the comic book cover, the words "Citron Triumphant" can be seen, which apparently is the same name title for Citron's last hero mission.
• When Z-Mech, Rustbolt, and Brain Freeze are putting their flag back on the moon in the final page, the flag resembles Galvanize.
• The comic is inspired by / a reference to Moon Base Z from Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. It also coincidentally foreshadowed the card of the same name as well as the space theme of the Galactic Gardens set.
• The player can see a Chomper and a Cactus inside one of the jars right where the plant hero stands.
• The player can also see a few oranges with faces encased in glass, these oranges look very similar to the ones seen when the player unlocks Citron.
