Crystal Orchid (水晶兰; pinyin: shuǐjīng lán) is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 that was introduced in the v2.3.92 update along with the 2019 Children's Day event.

Crystal Orchid attacks zombies in her lane by releasing a large freezing gust of wind that freezes zombies inside a snowman for 5 seconds, zombies frozen cannot attack plants and take double the amount of damage dealt by fire plants.

She cannot trap:

• Gargantuars
• Machines
• Flying zombies
• Zombies in the water of big wave beach
• Wizard Zombie
• Archmage Zombie
• Witch Zombie
• Zombies with a bully body (excluding All-Star Zombie)

Origins

Crystal Orchid is based on the ghost plant (Monotropa uniflora), a parasitic flowering plant native to the Northern Americas and Southcentral Asia.

In Chinese, this plant is known as the "Crystal Orchid", which is the same common name for terrestrial leafless orchids in the genus Didymoplexis. The crystal part of her Chinese name could also explain Crystal Orchid's icy design and ability.

Trivia

• She is the third plant to be an ice variant of a fire plant, after Chilly Pepper and Cold Snapdragon.
  • She is the only one of these whose attack isn't similar to their fire variant
• Due to an oversight, her body could be seen placed outside the puzzle piece and seed packet.
  • The Puzzle Piece was fixed in the 2.5.4 update.
• It’s possible for her to transform Digger Zombie, even when he’s underground.
• If she transforms a Zombie Chicken, the snowman it gets trapped in will be the same size as a basic zombie.
