Celebrating Chinese New Year (欢度春节; pinyin: Huāndù Chūnjié) is a new Secret Realm based on Lunar Zoo Year added to the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 as part of the v3.0.2 Chinese New Year update, and the 19th world overall. This Secret Realm features both a day map and a night map, each with their own lawns and level mechanics.
The night map has no sun falling from the sky and features sky lanterns. Sky lanterns gently fall into the middle of the lawn and then float leftward. Sky lanterns take damage from plants and when destroyed will fall to the ground and leave debris that makes the player unable to plant on the tile the debris lands in.
The day map has sun falling from the sky and features snowballs. Snowballs can appear during waves or spawn at the start of the level. Snowballs are grid obstacles that block straight fired projectiles and take extreme damage from fire-based attacks, melting into smaller sizes. Faster and slower zombies interact with snowballs differently, slower zombies are diverted into different lanes when they encounter snowballs, and faster zombies are able to push snowballs down their lane diverting slower zombies when rolling past them. Different sized snowballs interact differently when rolling into them plants:
Large snowballs knock away all plants they encounter
Medium snowballs knock away only the first plant they encounter
Small snowballs only freeze the first plant they encounter
