Breakout Battle was a game mode in Plants vs. Zombies 3. It was found in each block, functioning as more challenging versions of normal levels found in the Devour Tower. Each battle had a different trick and a random horde of zombies the player would fight against, both of which depended on the block. Bigger types of zombies called Mega-Minions would sometimes appear in these battles, marked by a angry skull with pink glowing eyes.

Tricks[]

Each Breakout Battle had a trick that would randomly occur during the level via a message on the screen, the trick’s ability depended on what block you were in. Player’s House & Dave’s Workshop did not have a trick. It is unknown if Mulchiburger Fast Food or Savings & Lawn Bank had one.

Taco Park[]

Taco Park’s trick was Pigeon Plunge, which spawned several Zombie Pigeons onto the lawn. It’s message was: “Park Trick: Pigeon Plunge!”.

Green Screens Theater[]

Green Screens Theater’s trick was Wiener Tornado, which spawned several Hot Dog Imps onto the lawn. It’s message was: “Theater Trick: Wiener Tornado!”.

Jubilee Nightclub[]

Jubilee Nightclub’s trick was Dance Off, which caused all zombies to switch lanes randomly for a few seconds. It’s message was: “Nightclub Trick: Dance Off!”.

Sunnyfield Farm[]

Sunnyfield Farm’s trick was Fertilizer Geyser, which would send one or more stink waves onto random lanes, stunning all plants in those lanes, rendering them immobile. It’s message was: “Farm Trick: Fertilizer Geyser!”.

Silicorn Lab[]

Silicorn Lab’s trick was Jetpack Attack, which summoned several Jetpack Zombies onto the lawn. It’s message was: “Lab Trick: Jetpack Attack!”.

Shallot Graveyard[]

Shallot Graveyard’s trick was Grave Danger, which summoned several Tombstones onto the lawn. It’s message was: “Graveyard Trick: Grave Danger!”.

BBQ Beach[]

BBQ Beach’s trick was Feeding Frenzy, which spawned several Shark Zombies onto the lawn. It’s message was: “Beach Trick: Feeding Frenzy!”.

Seeds[]

After winning a Breakout Battle, the player had a chance to get seeds for certain plants, depending on the block. You could earn up to five of a plant seed.
