Boss Turf Vanquish is a Weekly Event game mode in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. It is a variant of Team Vanquish where plant and zombie bosses spawn randomly on the map.

This game mode functions identically to Team Vanquish, except for one important detail. Plants and zombie bosses spawn occasionally. To be more specific, whenever the plants reach 15 and 30 vanquishes, a random zombie boss will spawn randomly on the map. In addition, whenever the zombies reach 15 and 30 vanquishes, a random plant boss will spawn randomly on the map.

Something else to keep in mind is that vanquishing a boss counts as 3 vanquishes, rather than 1 when you vanquish a player.

Team Vanquish with a twist! AI bosses will spawn throughout the match. Vanquish the opponent team's boss for extra points!

Weekly challenges

The weekly challenges for this event are as follows:

  1. Win a match. (1x)
  2. Get vanquishes in a match. (5x)
  3. Win Matches (3x)

Note: Weekly challenge #2 means you must get 5 vanquishes in a single match of Boss Team Vanquish, not multiple matches.

Taking out bosses is a great way for your team to catch up, as they're worth 3 times as many points as a normal player. However, keep in mind that it's probably over 3 times as difficult to vanquish a boss considering how much health they have, so it may be more worthwhile to hunt for players. Although, bosses tend to be easier to outsmart than players, considering they're simply AI, so you can easily attack them and run away for a bit when necessary to stay out of their reach, especially with close-ranged bosses like Gargantuars.

Vanquishing bosses is also a great way to get ahead of the other team. The first team to get to 15 will spawn the other team's boss. Vanquish it, and your opponents will have a hard time catching up. Just keep in mind that as soon as the other team gets to 15, the gig will be up and you will no longer have a lead. As such, it is useful when you have 30 points to vanquish as quickly as possible to get way ahead of the other team and win before they have a chance to catch up.

Another interesting strategy is to keep the bosses alive to help you fight. This is especially useful if your team is losing, as it kills two birds with one stone: it gives you an additional teammate while also denying your opponents 3 points. Sunflowers and Scientists are very useful for guarding bosses, as they can keep their health topped and overheal them through Heal Beam and Healing Hose to make them nearly indestructible. As a Sunflower, watch out for Electric Slides as their arc attack can hit you if you're healing the boss, who would be an easy and large target.
