Boingsetta is an ice plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 8.5.1 update. When planted, she deals heavy damage (1000 damage per shot) to all obstacles such as octopuses and tombstones, she also bounces all zombies back (for about 1 tile) and chills them (for 5 seconds). After initial planting, she will only affect the obstacles and zombies in her lane, needing time (25 seconds) to recharge after each use. If there are no targets, Boingsetta will not attack.
Origins
She is based on a poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima), the plant species of the diverse spurge family native to Central America and widely used in floral Christmas displays.
Her name is a portmanteau of "boing" which refers to her ability to knock back zombies, and "poinsettia", the plant she's based on.

Boingsetta |
Boingsettas slam the ground in a "boing" that heavily damages grid items, bounces zombies back and chills them. Boingsetta's a springy plant whose positive outlook is infectiously delightful! The chilling effect is merely a secondary consequence. |
Upgrades
Plant Food effect
When given Plant Food, Boingsetta deals heavy dmage (10000 DPS) to all obstacles and slight damage (50 DPS) to all zombies as well as knocking back (for about 2 tiles) and chilling them (for 10 seconds), similar to when she is planted.
Winter-mint effect
When boosted by Winter-mint, Boingsetta deals an additional 10000 DPS to grid items, her plant food effect deals an additional 30000 DPS to grid items, and an additional 195 DPS to zombies. Additionally, she knocks zombies back for about 2 tiles, her plant food effect knocks zombies back for about 3 tiles. Finally, Boingsetta's arming time is reduced to 18 seconds and her chill duration is increased to 11 seconds, her plant food chill duration is increased to 15 seconds.

Strategy
Boingsetta is incredibly powerful in a variety of scenarios and worlds. Just as you play her, she is capable of destroying all obstacles, which can be very useful in hazard-filled worlds like Dark Ages, Ancient Egypt or Frostbite Caves. After she has been planted, her knockback + chill attack can be very helpful at stalling massive zombie quantities, however this attack is only in her lane and not constant, so it is a good idea to bring other offensive plants.
Boingsetta is especially useful in Big Wave Beach, world of the infamous Octo Zombie. Thanks to her amazing capabilities for destroying obstacles, octopi launched by him can easily be nullified, surfboards placed on the lawn are destroyed, therefore making the world a lot easier. However, players have to strategize and use her carefully due to the 30 second recharge she has.
Similarly to Spring Bean, Boingsetta's knockback sends zombies into the water in Pirate Seas. Unlike Reinforce-mint, her knockback ability does not make the zombies airborne, so she cannot be used with Blover.
Obstacles include:
- All kinds of tombstones
- Barrels from Barrel Roller Zombies
- Zombie Parrots
- Zombie Chickens
- Ice Weasels
- Frozen blocks
- Tents
- Bugs from Bug Zombies
- Arcade machines
- Surfboards
- Octopi from Octo Zombies
- Balloons
- The stones and stone slabs from Zombie Medusas
- The caduceus from Healer Zombies
- Speakers
