well.
that's not really the case. plants vs. zombies would've likely been abandoned after the adventures, because according to fan, he had no interest in pvz and was working on a project unrelated to plants vs. zombies that is now considered dead because he worked on it under popcap's terms which means they're going to keep it until they die, and not work on it as george is no longer part of popcap.
and popcap was consuming itself with greed. plants vs zombies was a phenomanon and they felt like they were invincible but when 2015-2016 came, it was a slap in the face and the franchise is on life support.
EA definitely played some role in giving them the proper tuck and tight in some areas to look like a corperate entity but i feel like this was more so popcap's doing.
george fan is a humble, and nice person. he looks at games as an artform, not a business which is the direction popcap was going. pvz adventures was built from the ground up by popcap and filled with iAPS that would appear in pvz2. i don't like to throw shade at hard working people but they severely fucked up everything. i really don't know who's their market advisor but they need a new one because heroes was a flop, pvz2 is on life support and garden warfare 2 is barely picking itself back up, and having "it's plants vs zombies" be one of your main selling points after the craze died out nearly 10 years ago is fucking embarassing.Â
and with a plants vs zombies 3 in the works, it's anyone's fucking guess what's going to happen next.
