So, here's the deal. There has been a LOT of drama recently surrounding Camwood777's attitude, and it's only being heightened by the way he's continuing to behave. He has a tendency to over-dramatize situations due to his sensitive nature, which is NOT a problem... if he could take some constructive criticism. The problem is that he latches into his side of the story and ignores anything else anyone else tries to say, using his mental state as a scapegoat. Any opposing argument automatically equals "curb-stomping a man's head and then shouting 'IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO!!'" simply because it offers a different outlook that his own. The job of an administrator is to keep peace and resolve problems, not provoke them, and it has been making me question his rights for some time now. Recently with supposed harassment of other staff members on Discord it's come to a head, and we need to take action.
He claims that he's going through a lot currently, and I get that. The problem is he's using this mental dilemma as a shield to protect him from any consequences of his actions. People are sympathizing with him for his struggles and are understanding how he's worked hard to get to the position he has, so they let him be, thus securing his position. However, his attitude continues to cause trouble, starting the cycle over. The problem is that any time someone tries to offer help with the struggles he often announces he is experiencing, he flips it around so they are the enemy and lashes out at them, leaving himself as the victim and throwing everyone else under the bus for criticizing a person with "no self esteem" (his words, not mine). This "no self esteem" excuse, true or not, is keeping him safe from demotion while his behavior continues to be less-than-admin-worthy, to say the least.
This has been going on for several weeks now and it's becoming clear to me that we can't keep pandering to him, because he does not want to accept any help and is still behaving inappropriately, which leaves us no choice but to stop his actions through another means. I wish there was another way, because the wiki is his community and he truly is going through tough times, but he's refusing to listen to me or anyone else so it's time we toughened up and dealt with this the hard way.
And Camwood, if you're reading this, I'm sorry it's had to come to this. I tried to help you and I really wish we could have been friends, but you're refusing to acknowledge your own flaws. And yes, I know, you have been and I need to recognize my flaws too, you've told me a thousand times so don't bother saying it again.
Evidence
- Thread:1035227: Derailing discussion into an argument over a small comment.
- Thread:1023885: A vote conflict and a misunderstanding, instead of being resolved peacefully through discussion, turned into a "no, you're wrong and I'm right" argument.
- Thread:988617: Can't forget Camwood vs. Mental Skillness. Read Mental's original post, then scroll down for more examples.
- User blog:Camwood777/An Open Letter to the Wiki: Look at the comments, specifically the long back-and-forth chains. Evidence of turning against people trying to help him.
- User blog:Coollittlepeashooter/Many Many Times: This didn't occur on the wiki, but in a Discord DM. Regardless, it shows his attitude towards other staff members. In the comments he's talking about how it can't count as evidence, which leads me to believe he did it there specifically to take advantage of the off-wiki loophole.
