Requests for User Rights
I would like to be A DM, Despite Being active on posts
Pros: looking at posts and fixing posts and reporting stuff to admins eg. StickSurfer or ThisUserLikesOreo and editing (will be editing more often)
Cons: Fixing Vandalism for a long time, and seeing stuff breaking guidelines
This Is for the future by the way
You know, when TULLR said I'd probably be a good bureaucrat, I don't think this is exactly what he had in mind.
So anyway...why am I applying for a promotion? Times pass. I've seen users come and go on this Wiki (I'm surprised I'm still here). Most of them have left now, including staff. So what's happened now?
One bureaucrat and zero admins. So what's the issue here? There is none...
other than some minor issues. Has that background been here since November? Yikes. Additionally, new content means new links...which need colors. And only admins and above can edit both of those things.
These issues are all the more glaring for PvZ3, which has its full release imminent (and therefore a ton of links). On that topic, I'll be able to fact-check and moderate PvZ3 pages as well thanks to its availability on iOS...once I manage to get more than half a gigabyte of storage available on my phone (thanks a lot, PvZ2).
(Yes, I am applying because of cosmetic stuff but there are some other things that might need to be done in the future that are restricted to admins.)
Pros
I still check Recent Changes and Discussions.
Per norm, I know the rules, terms of services, privacy policies, etc, so yeah, I know what regarding rulebreaking.
I'll be able to do things like change link colors, the site layout, and some other stuff.
I have returned to my gargantuan to-do list.
How many PvZ files do I even have now?
Cons
My activity has taken a big hit because irl stuff.
Requirements
You must have been on the wiki for at least a year. (A year? Why not three?)
You must know how basic admin tools work. (I've done my practicing, so I know how this works)
You must have not been blocked for more than three days for the past year. (Definite pass)
#BringBackBlue
I would like to be a mod, to revive this wiki and edit more pages in it
I have not been blocked on this wiki yet
Btw this is for April 3rd
Welp, my 3rd attempt being staff, and i THINK have become more worthy now
Pros:
Frequent editor (has 100 edits)
Active in Disscussions
Active for almost a year
Hasn't been banned for the past 6 months
TULO as a Bureaucrat
ResearcherFerd as a Bureaucrat
AmericanEditor350 and Flag zombie as Admin
Me and 123WL as Moderator
All rollbacks same
Someday, ThisUserLikesOreo will become "former staff"
Thus, we should have new users for staff. I will suggest worthy users such as AmericanEditor150, Qwerty280 (me), PentchStencher, Ditb01, and ElderberryStarz. These are candidate staff members of the future.
Active in discussions
Been on the wiki for 4 months (requirements say have to be on the wiki for at least 3 months)
Apparently, to become a content moderator, I first have to become a Rollback
(Might as well try)
This is still for AWB and {{Delete}} stuff because the mods don't seem to care about my requests
(They're still cool tho)
I honestly don't know how to use the "Requests for User Rights" label/flair so... yeah
I'm only requesting Content Moderator to:
Make dealing with Wanted Files much easier
Make using AutoWikiBrowser much easier to use
The current admins seem to not have much time to deal with the editing requests I make (and that's cool), so I think it'll be better if I did them myself.
If the user right isn't given, that's cool as well lol. It was worth trying, at least.
There are a couple of reasons why.
First one being the increased toxicity in staff discussions. Over the last couple of months, I've felt like our arguments have become more heated and personal than they really should be. Don't get me wrong - I'm also the part of the problem, maybe even the cause. Anyway, I hope staff will do something about it.
Secondly, I no longer need editing personally. I used it in the past as an escapism method and also as a way to kick start my brain, which I got better methods of doing.
Thirdly, and mainly - I'm no longer interested in PvZ. I haven't played any PvZ game in months, and this is the first time that happened over the course of a decade. New PvZ3 is horrendous imo, and everything else feels like a chore to play. I'm no longer excited by new plant releases, events, mods didn't breathe new life for me (even tho Reflousrished is really good), so I guess it's the end of the line.
I'm thankful to the people I've met over my staff years, for being good, excited workers, or just being good people. I hold no grudges against anyone, and wish the best of luck to the staff. Byeeee!
I'm actually surprised I've stayed on this franchise (and the related Wiki) for almost a year. At this stage, I've seen people come and go.
Pros
I still check Recent Changes and Discussions.
I've been online during times of rulebreaking. Probably helpful.
I know the rules, terms of services, privacy policies, etc, so yeah, I know what regarding rulebreaking.
I'll be able to delete files that I forgot to convert to a suitable format before uploading (as well as manually-created file redirects that I screwed up somewhere in the title).
I've been putting off doing the tasks listed on my gargantuan to-do list, but it's slowly going down. Just slowly.
How many PvZ files do I even have now?
Even if I'm not "good enough" to moderate Discussions, I can still delete the blatantly obvious (like "Which is better?")...right?
Edit because I'm obviously still dumb: I know the basic theory in datamining the mobile games now. I have not, however, done the actual disassembly though.
Cons
As a refresher from last time, every GW2 file I currently have has to go through a file conversion. It's really demotivating me from adding them to the Wiki.
I'm no longer as active as I was previously. Say goodbye to weekend activity.
Requirements
You must have been on the wiki for at least five months. (Yup)
You must have been active on discussions and/or mainspace in the last two weeks. (Been active in both)
You must have been active and monitored article and/or blog post comments. (Done that)
You must have not been blocked for more than one week for the past six months. (Definite pass)
I feel like I'm missing a lot, but this should do fine.
Should I just start with my Pros and Cons, or do I need an introduction first? Well, I really like Chomper, and I meet the requirements for a discuss moderator according to the User Rights article.
Pros:
Very active in the threads. (At least I think I am)
I have experience being a thread moderator on another wiki as well.
Cons
Unnecessarily serious at times.
Have made multiple low effort posts that have been deleted.
Hello staff members! I am NewlyYT i joined this wiki since January, I've been editing wiki pages a lot. I'm also super-active and check tue Fandom whenever i wanted, i want this to be a new home of mine, although I've been playing this game for 2 years and just "discovered" the wiki.
Pros:
1. Can be helpful since always online
2. Making sure Plants/Zombies have the right usage/special
3. Can help people whenever they need it
4. Can delete unnecessary/rule-breaking posts
Cons:
1. Altough i speak this language, my English may be bad.
2. I might take thing a bit tough (I'm a prefect at school so don't judge me)
3. Sometimes i have time limit so i might help a bit
4. Kinda new of the editing panel (i see it more complicated)
5. I might be bad at editing, but I'll continue working hard
Hi, staff members of Plants vs. Zombies, I am 123WL, here to apply the rights of rollback.
I have edited this wiki 1960 times. Although the number is less than that of others, I swear I will continue to work hard. I haven't been one of these before, but I will learn hard and spare my time in real life to contribute more to this wiki. I also have some experience editing other wikis. But I still don't understand how to and the time it takes to become a staff number. I hope the staffs can take care of me. :)
Pros:
I have plenty of time every day (about 6-10 hours), which means I can have a lot of time to track the bad editing of some users.
I have a lot of numerical and mechanism knowledge of PvZ2 and PvZ2C.
I can guide newcomers how to use wiki. Help learn the rules of this wiki.
After becoming a real staff member, I will pay more attention to the overall development of this wiki. This may mean that I have to "give up" other wikis for the time being.
Cons:
Sometimes I take something very seriously, may make decisions without communication.
My network is not very good. Discord may not be used often (need some tools I already have). But this shouldn't be a big problem. The Internet is mostly excellent.
I don't know much about third-person shooters game (PvZ: BfN, PvZ: GW, PvZ: GW2), but I can tell which editors are bad, point out the bad points.
Requirements of being a rollback:
You must have been on the wiki for at least two months. (√)
You must have been active on mainspace and have reverted bad edits in the last two weeks. (√ Probably)
You must have not been blocked for more than two weeks for the past six months. (√)
How many edits have I made since the last application? I forgot💀
Pros
I still check Recent Changes and Discussions. Still abnormally active.
I've been online during times of major-rulebreaking. Probably helpful.
I can finally do some of the stuff I promised-you know the drill now.
I can help with sound-related parts.
My knowledge in Fandom CSS has expanded. I can make tabbers for the PvZ3 stuff.
I know the rules, terms of services, privacy policies, etc, so yeah, I know what to do when I see something breaking the rules.
I'll probably be able to do more stuff without pinging another staff member. That part's been on the rise lately with stuff like renaming articles and stuff.
I've been creating PvZ3 level pages, expanding articles and decreasing the gargantuan number of "Under Construction" pages, and adding other files to pages.
I've found an easier way to convert the GW2 images, so there's a lot more of them added to the Wiki now.
I've been correcting a ton of changes, particularly with people removing pre-2021 content from PvZ3 pages now that a new beta is out.
Cons
To quote TULO, I probably "have unrealistic expectations."
Still nearly every GW2 file I currently have has to go through a file conversion. Still really demotivating me from adding them to the Wiki.
Am I good enough to moderate Discussions now? I don't know. (If this is a "no," I'm gonna leave it to the usual group of people who moderate Discussions)
(Once again, a small request to voters: if you think I still need to improve, please provide feedback for which aspects; that way I can improve and you don't have to keep voting "no" on the same mundane person every month. It saves a lot of hassle for both you and me. Thanks!)
More "patrolling" of mainspace. More bad edit reversion. More "red flags." It's...been a month of improvement, I guess you could say.
(In the unlikelihood I do get a majority of votes on my side, I'm going to refrain from moderating Discussions and leave it to Dreamy, TULO, Glowey, etc)
Pros
I still check Recent Changes and Discussions. Still abnormally active.
I can finally do some of the stuff I promised on my previous Rollback application.
Speaking of which, remember that "I can hear sound effects clearly" part on my second application? That's come in helpful as I've managed to notice that Electric Peashooter reuses some sound effects from Law Pea for some reason (though I haven't corrected the article yet). Definitely helpful for sound-related parts.
My knowledge in Fandom CSS has expanded. I've helped fixed up formatting, made a template, and I think first thing I'll be doing is writing some documentation for a few templates. The scrapped templates list has grown...a lot. :very:
I know the rules, terms of services, privacy policies, etc, so yeah, I know what to do when I see something breaking the rules.
I'll probably be able to do more stuff without pinging another staff member.
I've been adding GW2 sfx lately, expanding articles and decreasing the gargantuan number of "Under Construction" pages, and adding other files to pages.
I've patched up templates and have made major formatting changes (why would you use external link formats for on-Wiki pages lol).
Cons
To quote TULO, I probably "have unrealistic expectations."
Literally every GW2 file I currently have has to go through a file conversion and that's (for some reason) really demotivating me from adding them to the Wiki.
I sometimes take up tasks that I'll probably never finish (Boss Hunt and Stickers haven't been touched at all this year).
I don't think I'll be best for moderating Discussions; I'm simply going to use moderation tools in mainspace (particularly for renaming stuff and deleting pointless articles).
Requirements
You must have been on the wiki for at least five months. (Yup)
You must have been active on discussions and/or mainspace in the last two weeks. (Been active in both, but I'm going to focus on mainspace after this)
You must have been active and monitored article and/or blog post comments. (No more piracy)
You must have not been blocked for more than one week for the past six months. (Definite pass)
(A small request to voters: if you think I still need to improve despite the last month, please provide feedback for which aspects; that way I can improve and you don't have to keep voting "no" on the same mundane person every month. It saves a lot of hassle for both you and me. Thanks!)
The one month of waiting is over and I'm back again. I would say "Cheers" but the last week of heck is making me think against it.
So what have I done more recently? Certainly more vandalism reverting. My knowledge in Wiki CSS has improved by a fair amount, having made a (scrapped) template. Still adamantly flagging down bad posts. It's...been something.
Pros
Semi-active person who checks recent changes and Discussions.
I can finally do some of the stuff I promised on my previous Rollback application.
My knowledge in Fandom CSS has expanded. I've helped fixed up formatting, made a template, and I think first thing I'll be doing is writing some documentation for a few templates.
I know the rules, terms of services, privacy policies, etc, so yeah, I know what to do when I see something breaking the rules.
I've still been flagging down bad posts in Discussions. A lot of posts that were taken down were probably flagged by me.
Communication - I feel like it's a critical thing to do. I am summarizing that the events of yesterday were most likely caused from the fact that it was not understood that the posts were locked due to some (unexplained) reason. I generally try to provide reasoning for every action I take, although some things, such as using the Rollback function, can't have reasoning provided.
I'll probably be able to do more stuff without pinging another staff member.
I've been taking notes of what actions to take during what scenarios. Hopefully that could help for moderating Discussions.
Although I'm not as active as used to, I sometimes see critical situations, such as what happened yesterday. I also seem to be sometimes online when others aren't. Huh.
Cons
I'm not as active as I used to be.
To quote TULO, I probably "have unrealistic expectations." Uh oh.
Requirements
You must have been on the wiki for at least five months. (Yup)
You must have been active on discussions and/or mainspace in the last two weeks. (Been doing both and some stuff I've found...well)
You must have been active and monitored article and/or blog post comments. (Done that)
You must have not been blocked for more than one week for the past six months. (Definite pass)
Hello fellow staff members. I've been active again lately, I'm still passionate about this franschise, and I think it's time for me to ask for a promotion.
Pros:
I collect, analyse and organise information. That's my main schtick and that's what I do best.
Active on Discord and with users who ask me directly. I can politely support any wiki-related discussion.
Have an experience with CSS. Finished university course on this topic.
Can work with community. I held an AS closure event, and I've got something else in mind, which I'll discuss in Discord.
Cons:
Can get impulsive when I'm excited. Remila incident flashback.
Can get inactive for a lengthy period of time. My mental health is unstable, and I keep it as my highest priority. So, if I go missing, that's why.
Don't know how to handle staff applications. I don't understand which promotions would be good for wiki, which would be not, but that's something I'm willing to learn.
All requirements are satisfied, so I hope I can get some new powers and do good stuff for wiki. Cheers.
