Birthdayz is a recurring special event in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. It is an event celebrating the anniversary of the release of the original game, and subsequently the entire Plants vs. Zombies franchise. It usually runs from early to late May.

Plants vs. Zombies 2[]

Birthdayz was first celebrated in Plants vs. Zombies 2 for the entirety of May 2014 with the release of the exclusive Piñata Parties which ran for the entire month. Later years saw the return of these Piñata Parties along with discounts for various items in the shop.

In 2019, Arena Seasons were introduced in the v7.3.1 update, with the first season being for Birthdayz. The new characters that were introduced in this Season were Zoybean Pod and #caketank.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 (Chinese version) (China only)[]

Birthdayz was first celebrated in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 on October 28, 2015 to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the game's release in China and introduced the monthly special plant Sunflower Singer.

During the 2015 Birthdayz event, if you shared a thank-you letter onto WeChat Moments, you would be given coins, gems, and a chance of participating in a physical prize draw, where you could win plushes of Peashooter, Sunflower, and Squash wearing cake hats. These three plushes from Worldmax Toys are now considered extremely rare.

Later years saw the inclusion of another monthly special plant, Banana Dancer, and the inclusion of a Birthdayz themed Roulette Event.

Plants vs. Zombies Heroes[]

Birthdayz was first celebrated in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes on May 2, 2017 with the showcase of the Weekly Event card Banana Split. Other cards associated with the Birthdayz event are Garlic and Gargantuar-Throwing Imp, the latter of which was obtainable exclusively through the Birthdayz Bundle pack.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville[]

Birthdayz was first celebrated in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville on May 2, 2020. It includes the Birthdayz prize map, with the "Violet Femme" costume for the Cactus as a mid-prize map reward, "Steam Master" costume, and Steam Blaster legendary upgrade for the Scientist at the end of the prize map, as well as the "Sprocket Scientist" costume for the Scientist for the completion reward.

It also includes character challenges for Electric Slide, Engineer, Kernel Corn, and Cactus.
