The Apple line is a Brave plant line in Plants vs. Zombies: All Stars which was introduced in the 1.0.104 update.
The line consists of Apple Tosser (苹果掷弹手; pinyin: píngguǒ zhì dàn shǒu), Apple Howitzer (苹果榴弹炮; pinyin: píngguǒ liúdànpào), and Apple Mortar (苹果迫击炮; pinyin: píngguǒ pǎijīpào). They all attack by lobbing apple cores at zombies.
Origins
All members on the Apple line are based on the Apple Mortar from Plants vs. Zombies 2, albeit in different colors.
The middle evolution shares the exact same coloration as Apple Mortar, and the final evolution sharing its name.
The different colors of the individual evolutions are also based on different cultivar of apples, with Apple Tosser's colors being based on the Granny Smith apple, Apple Howiter's colors being based on the Red Delicious apple, and Apple Mortar's colors being based on Golden apples, a recurring symbol in numerous legends and mythologies from many different cultures and ethnicities.
Upgrades
Apple Tosser evolves into Apple Howitzer and further evolves into Apple Mortar.
